Here at Mighty Ape we're a massively mixed bag of monkeys with music tastes including everything from Slipknot through to Katy Perry. In the first of what will become a weekly series, we're going to be letting you fine folks at home know exactly what we're listening to at Mighty Ape Head Quarters. Each week we'll be spotlighting what five of the wonderful monkeys here are listening to.

With out further ado, let's kick things off!

Aidan Wong: Warehouse monkey – This week Aidan's been getting the jump on summer early with the awesome new song from alt-J ‘Left Hand Free’ taken from the upcoming album This Is All Yours. Aidan says “It's a great tune with great vibes. Can't not sing or tap along to it. Can not wait for their new album to drop!”

Talman Madsen: Health & Fitness Gorilla – This week Talman's been super busy with all the latest supplement releases. When not pumping serious iron in the gym, he's been winding down with John Mayer's album Paradise Valley. “it's a bit different to what I was used to/expecting, but after a few plays, I'm hooked! ”

Rebecca Thornber: Clothing Gorilla – Our resident expert on what's hot & stylish in the geek fashion world, Rebecca's music taste is just as varied as her crazy taste in clothing. This week, Rebecca's been getting through the work day with Anxiety by “Autre Ne Veut”. Rebecca says the album is “a dark brooding musical journey of ever changing sounds that are both simple & beautifully complex. I'm hearing new things every time I listen!”

Chris Penny: Web Monkey – While wandering the internet and ensuring the site runs as efficiently as possible, our resident programming powerhouse, Chris has been taking a trip down memory lane with The Essential Backstreet Boys album. “With so many hits under their belt, I'm guaranteed a song to suit my every mood, with what is in my opinion, the best boy band to ever grace the radio waves” says Chris.

Richard Ireland: Returns Monkey – Richard is our resident expert on classic B-grade Horror movies and has one of the most “out-there” music tastes of all the monkeys here at mighty Ape. This week's been a wild one for Rich, and what better way to embrace that crazyness than with the The Cramps!
“Blurring the lines between rockabilly, blues and punk, The Cramps are a fun, nightmarish rock and roll head trip. The perfect soundtrack to a romantic date at the cemetery” says Rich.
