My dad is the best man in the entire world and I'm lucky to call him my father. He taught me how to tie my shoe (took me about 20 minutes. I think. haha! ) when I was 8. He helped me with my homework even though he was tired after coming back from work and there was this one time I got into a fight with someone at school when I was like 10 years old (there was this kid who keep taking my stuff and he wouldn't give it back), I punched him in the face and I had to go to the principal's office because of it. When my father heard of this, he wasn't totally mad at me, he was actually quite understanding of why I did it but of course he told me that that was wrong and next time, I should work things without using violence. He is definitely the best father in the entire world, at the very least, in my eyes. I couldn't find anything worthy for my father until I saw this. This would be an awesome gift for father's day and it's what my father really deserve. So please pick me!

My dad always wants me to be his player 2. :D Mum would be out, and we'd barricade ourselves in with the Xbox to go and shoot some aliens. Best time was on Halo 3 release night, we planned to stay up all night and clock it in one go. At 2am I was tired and starting to flag, but dad bellowed "CARRY ON SOLDIER!!" and we nailed it by 3am. :P

My dad would love to get his hands on all of this, but he would need my help to understand more than half of it!

I don't get to see my dad often. When I was 12, he pulled out of the navy. He was always going away on trips around the world. When he did pull out, he was around home, doing the desk job, something he didn't like all too much. A decision he made, I was about 14, he packed up and worked in North-western Australia - those mining towns. Nowadays, that I'm 22 in less than a month, I still don't see my dad often. He still lives in Australia, and I last saw him in 2012/2013. He hasn't been around much, but he'll always be my dad, and I love him for that. I am definitely a daddy's girl; I love the ocean, I love/d sailing, I learned so much from him. I have a red spot on my my right iris (eye), he has the same, but on the left. A surprise like this would be amazing! He wouldn't even see it coming.

My Dad has always be a huge part of my life which I'm very glad for, although we hit some high roads and lows. I'm thankful for the fights we sometimes have as it helps me become better man and son. When the day comes when I have kids I hope that I will resemble him as much as possible so that my kids take that example of the man it has made today, I'm glad that my dad is apart of my life cause without him who knows what I would I have become. As all that is good in me begin with him.
    Thank you Dad

My dad is great because he has funded all of my gaming gear (over 50% of the value) and still gets spends money on my gaming occasionally even though he doesn't like it. He's been really stressed lately at work and has almost no free time since stuff keeps breaking at his work.

My father is the only one I know. He is not my biological father. He took me in when he did not have to and put me through school, fed me, clothed me and nurtured me through life's ups and down. The word father is not limited to mean the man that helped create you but the man that is always there without any agenda. I have no blood ties to my father but he is my Dad. There are others like him in the world and they are real men who take on kids that aren't necessarily theirs but they still love them unconditionally like my old man. I would do anything for my old man especially as he is getting on in life. I am also a father to my son and I have the perfect role model and he loves his Poppa. To all the fathers out there "Happy Fathers Day" this weekend. Now you have permission to pick up the remote or go fishing your choice...

My dad is pretty damn awesome. Spending time with him was always the best part of mine and my sister's week growing up. He taught us to appreciate the good things in life like PC and console gaming, classic horror and sci-fi films and books, along with rock and metal music. He always has a funny story to tell, usually about his old Land Rover and things he would get up to in his youth. He always did his best for us and now that I am 26 he still helps me out when I need it and lets me know that he is there for me no matter what.

My dad would be absolutely wrapped with something like this. Hes someones whose been there for our family whenever we've needed him. Hes someone who has put so much time, effort and love into our family and would never ask for anything in return. Hes such a great dad, husband and son, however he isnt that good of a gamer...

  • Lee says: 1 September 2014, 9:28pm

My dad was the reason I started playing games, all my life he had the latest consoles back when playstation 1 first came out, he had it. We played countless hours of crash bandicoot and crash tag team racing. He'd always tell me no matter what I did he'd be proud whether it be a no life gamer or somebody accomplishing something. My life wouldn't be anywhere near as good without him

  • Barrie says: 1 September 2014, 11:37pm

My dad is the reason I'm such a great Dad. Couldn't have learnt all the important life skills without him.

  • Nicholas says: 2 September 2014, 12:14am

It's hard to sum up what my dad means to me. He is everything you would want in a dad. He is smart, and funny, he is always there for me and i know i can count on him to back me up. He had some trouble with depression a good few years back now. I was too young realise what was wrong but i knew things werent right. It was tough but we struggled through it and we came out a stronger family. I cant imagine wanting or having a better dad, he is my best role model, and i just hope i can be that kind of father for my son.

My dad is the only person I know that can deal with my mum, and that truly is something worth praising.

  • Nigel says: 2 September 2014, 9:26am

    Hi,
My name is Hunter and I'm 10 weeks old. My Dad gets home from work every day and cooks dinner for my sister and mum then sacrifices his gaming time to look after me until midnight at times while I make lots of noise trying to burp and fart so my mum can get some sleep. He is awesome and definitely deserves free stuff.

  • Nigel says: 2 September 2014, 9:36am

    Hi,
My name is Sophie and I'm 4. My dad picks me up from preschool after working all day and then cooks me a yummy dinner when we get home. After that he cooks dinner for himself and mum while helping give me a bath. He reads me a story then puts me to bed. I sometimes like to wake up at 5:30 a.m. and go and wake my dad up. He thinks it's great. I think my dad is awesome and deserves free stuff.

For my dad id love to be able to give him something this year. He has done so so so much for me and my family. In the past few years he has had a bit of a tough time he has over come a hip replacement and id just like to be able to give my dad a good fathers day a small gesture to the best dad i could ask for.

  • Jordan says: 2 September 2014, 9:54am

    Hi,
My name is Jordan - I am not a kid. I work with Nigel (above).
He sent me this to see if I wanted to get my kids to write something, and the truth is I'm a pretty decent dad too.. but this time I'm gonna write in and say that Nige is a bit of a legend around here at the tech company we work at. He has helped the team to make better decisions about our eating habits (lucky - we would have needed a bigger enclosure soon if he didn't) and with balancing all of the above with his non-gaming or working life Nigel manages to make a very decent innings when it comes to our team. If you don't decide to give free stuff to Nigel - you're mad :)

  • Lee says: 2 September 2014, 11:20am

My dad paced the sidelines of my school soccer games when I was a kid every Saturday morning, cheering my team and yelling at the ref for bad calls. He got told to leave the field by one particularly sensitive ref for his "enthusiasm", so dad responded by taking several steps back so that he was standing on the adjacent empty soccer field and continued to watch and yell from there!

My friends said they always knew when my dad was at a game because he used to smoke a pipe and if you were running down the side of the field and caught a whiff of pipe smoke, you'd know he was there!

As a geek I was never very into sports but dad tried his hardest to get me out there and playing my best.

  • Andi says: 2 September 2014, 12:22pm

@Nigel - If anything's a testament to what a great dad you are, it has to be your children's spelling! Only 10 months and 4 years old and not a single mistake!

  • Melina says: 2 September 2014, 1:53pm

My husband is a great Dad. He's been fighting the battle for his life against depression for the past three years, and doing everything possible to try and be a great Dad for our kids in the mean time. He is unable to work, and some times every day tasks like making a sandwich are just mammoth to him. But, he still plays games with our 2 & 4 year olds, helps around the house, and is the master of tickle fights. The kids adore him. He doesn't really *need* all this stuff, but it would absolutely make his day. :)

I love my dad so much, he has always been the best man in my life. From taking me camping and fishing as a kid, to teaching me to ride motorbikes as a teen. More importantly as the years go by I realise just how lucky I am to have had such a top guy around. He has taught me a sense of self worth, responsibility and most importantly what it is to understand others who are not necessarily like ourselves. Dad is also a great grandfather in both senses of the word and still teaches my nephews how to tie fishing knots and the importance of family. I would love for him to have something special this year so he knows just how amazing he has made not only my life but my brothers and their kids too.

  • Gillian says: 2 September 2014, 2:37pm

I would like to nominate my husband on behalf of our children to win this amazing prize pack. He not only home schools them but finds time to cook the family dinner each week night as well! Keeping 3 young ladies happy is no easy task and this prize pack would be wonderful for helping him to 'escape' temporarily from having to play barbie dolls or discuss favourite teen singers!

What can i say about my Dad, He has just always been there for this family, Done things that it would take a lifetime to repay. He was there at my side when i had a life threatening accident, He brought us here for a chance at a better life, He has always put us first. I just hope that one day i can make him proud.

My Dad gives me money on my birthday, best Dad ever. He has also done so much for me.. he gave me life. Thanks Dad!

  • Han says: 3 September 2014, 1:19am

I love my dad because he is chilled out and gives me space and freedom to do my thing, but that said will always look after the interests of my siblings and I such as putting a stop to any negative influences like cigarettes and drugs.

  • John says: 3 September 2014, 9:39am

For as long as I can remember, my dad has always played games. Hes the guy who majorly influenced me to be a gamer. I remember the first time he taught me how to play diablo. Hes also the one who introduced me to anime.

My Dad loves gaming and I think that is were I have got my love of gaming from! The only thing is we are both super competitive and in life somebody has to lose. I have learnt from my dad that is alright to lose and I am a better person from learning this hard lesson. Sometimes I think he lets me win! :)
