Vigilante

The Vigilante drives the action as a street fighter taking the law into his own hands after his girlfriend Madonna is kidnapped by a violent gang. He is a close-range brawler who depends on punches, kicks, and picked-up weapons such as nunchaku to fight through enemy groups and survive repeated street-level confrontations.

In Vigilante for the Sega Master System, you move through side-scrolling city stages to rescue Madonna from the gang that took her. Each stage ends with a boss fight, so the game is built around clearing waves of enemies, surviving the level, and defeating the leader waiting at the end before pushing deeper into the city.
