"The one to get!"
5 stars"

As a long time PS3 owner, I have been looking to expand my gaming and get a 360. While browsing for models, I had a feeling that Microsoft would come out with something new at this year's E3 to complement their Kinect motion control.

This new model makes the choice easy. Smaller, slimmer and sleeker with a huge hard drive to install games on to – no more worrying about the absurdly expensive proprietary hard drives. Built-in Wi-Fi seals the deal for me, as my TV is upstairs from my router at home, thereby saving on more perhipheral costs.

The 360 has come along way since the RRoD-prone release models. We can't say for sure, but I have a feeling this one will be as rock-solid reliable as my PS3.

This one is definitely on my wish list!

"Great value"

Great to see a feature packed model showing up at a reasonable price.

If you consider what a 360 Elite + Wi-Fi adapter would set you back, this is great value! Glad to see the end of the line for out of date devices like memory cards, I hope to see flash drive support in the future.

The question on the skeptics tongues is “What about RROD?” I think with the blunders of the pre 2009 360's, that MS will not be wanting to make the same sort of mistakes and more importantly financial losses again.

On top of this it's running a cool 45nm intergrated chip with a singular large fan so I don't see over heating failures in this iterations future.

I'll personally be getting one of these as soon as I line up a buyer for my elite :)

"Excellent deal"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

The same price alongside other shops with 2 free games and an hdmi cable? I am stunned as always with the great deal offered here.

As to the new 360, I saw a preview and it is brilliant, they held the microphone up to it and it is whisper quiet. Finally we can have built in wireless and its all ready for the new Kinect. Backed up all my games, sold my old 20gig and now patiently yet eagerly waiting.

"Great, just one tiny design flaw"
4 stars"

Great value, Big hard drive, internal wifi, one touch buttons and extra usb accessibility. This one shouldn't suffer from the RROD either, because of the tech updates will be the same as on the later orig 360 models. However, the issue microsoft has overlooked is the internal disc tray. The current one ejects the entire tray outwards, which not only flaws the aesthetic values, but can also cause a whole host of issues. I have had a heap of 360's (sold some, repaired some, a few died on me) and after prolonged use the disc tray can get loud/slow. I'm sure this isn't an issue that only I have experienced, as this is the same problem certain dvd/cd players experience after prolonged use. Microsoft need to integrate the same style of disc insertion/removal as sony and nintendo have with their next gen consoles. Anyhow, all that aside kinect is gonna be awesome!!!!

"Well done"

"will be waiting for the Kinect combo…"

Early this year, I wanted to buy a gaming console and I couldn't make my mind to go wih either ps3 or xbox360. Eventually, I bought a ps3 slim as I'm not a heavy gamer (no more time to play!) and ps3 can double as a blue ray player which everyone in the family could enjoy as well – what a convenient excuse to buy a expensive gaming console like this!

If the new xbox360 slim was available at that time, I'd probably still buy a ps3 slim, as the built in wifi has no use to me… HOWEVER, the new Kinect device may change my decision! I owned a wii and sold it a few months later because there were not many games I wanted to play. Nonethless Nintendo have created a really cool way to play video games.

Now wih the Kinect, xbox360 will certainly attract lots of casual games like me – a console the whole family can have fun with, yet unlike wii, there are heaps of popular titles a hardcore gamer would appreciate.

I would waiting patiently for the Kinect combo to come out, and hopefuly the price will be good as well!

"Finally"
5 stars"

I used to own a older model 360 and after it broke down twice I lost faith in the Xbox and so I sold it and got a PS3. But now with this new model I can easily see myself buying this. The RROD is supposed to be fixed, its quiter and built in wi-fi. Plus the release of some great new titles soon such as Halo Reach and other titles which have been released this year such as Mass Effect 2. The Xbox is an obvious choice for any gamer.

"Can't wait!!"

3 days before my birthday! And I'm buying it for myself, how lame. Looks awesome though! The RROD is still on the back of my mind with this but I hope they've fixed it with this thing of beauty.

"Hope it lives up to what it says"
4 stars"

So after my first 360 died, (no idea what happened, I think it overheated), I “upgraded” to the X360 Elite system which claimed to be quieter than the original, which it wasn't, it still sounds like a vacuum cleaner. This new 360 has the Wifi built in which should have been in the originals, since every other console has it, and the adapter costs around $80 – $150 depending on which type you want (wireless N or B/G), and if it's on sale at the time. And the 250 GB HDD is a nice touch, personally I haven't filled my “elite's” one yet, but if you plan to put movies and loads of music on your 360, this would be a must. Sounds good, but I will want to see it in action first.

"Interesting"

I was thinking of upgrading to elite from arcade but now slim elite would be the best option with built in wi-fi finally

"Little let-down"
4 stars"

Would have liked to see a blue-ray player in here. No doubt it would have increased the price but I think it would have been great because it is what the original 360 was lacking.

Still, a great console non the less.

"The newest addition to the 7th Gen. console lineup." Purchased on Mighty Ape

With 250GB HDD, Wireless N, 5 x USB, etc., Xbox 360 is surely back in the game. Moreover, this deal from Mighty Ape will absolutely make this console more tempting for people who are looking to buy their first console, or even people who already own an Xbox 360 like me.

"WOO HOO!"
5 stars"

Since my change from Playstation to XBOX, I have bought my consoles from Mighty Ape. I started with the standard white 20gb model, upgraded recently to the stunning black Elite, and now am in the process of selling my grandmother (mum too, possibly … might list them as a set on TM) to get this baby. What an awesome beasty (thanks Microsoft for ironing out the problems and adding some really useful features)! And what an awesome price (thanks Mighty Ape)! And thanks too for the awesome service which has never let me down!

"If your wondering about noise levels>>>>"

Here is engadget.com's video comparing the noise level of the new xbox 360 vs the older 360.

Watch and be suprised.

"Don't rush on this one"
2 stars"

Basicly, don't go out of your way to buy this if you already own an xbox (unless you have a first gen version RRoD model). It's the same machine with a few improvments like slightly reduced dvd load noise (not an issue when games are installed), a tad better power consumption and built in Wi-fi.

I think the glossy black finish and style of the new machine is rather tacky but Microsoft have never been known for producing good looking consoles.

It is also unknown how reliable this model is. Microsoft stated when asked about the RRoD that they have just removed the red lights from the console completely.

A positive would be the consolidation of all the models (arcade, pro, elite) into one slim version. It makes the choice much simpler for the consumer.

The logical thing to do is wait for some cheap deals on the current elite and buy one of those (already going for as low as $250 with games over in OZ) then get the kinect later on in November (compatible with old xbox). Money saved and fun had.

"Looks good but is it more reliable now?"

Have they fixed the red ring of fire problem though? Had such bad experience with it I swapped to ps3, I would consider buying this if they have fixed it properly.

"Cant wait"
5 stars"

Really looking forward too getting one of these and replacing my Elite, looking forward too trying too Kinect

I do hope there is some way too still use your memory cards with them though, because unlike the other people posting a review saying no one uses them, if they actually stopped too think about it they would realize if they don't support the memory card than there is no way too move your save games onto the new console… duh.

I had too buy a memory card when i got my Elite too move my save games from my old 20gig base model i got on release of the 360's so here is hoping for some form of memory card support :)

"WOAH!"

Yes I'm going to pre-order this and sell my old 2006 HDMI-less Arcade w/ 20GB HDD. This looks awesome, a bit Alienware-ish look with touch buttons. The HDD is huge so I'm excited!

"Hard drive"
5 stars"

On the current 360 the HDD sticks out the top and looks crap, looks like this one is flush with the console! WIN! WANT WANT WANT

"Prone to Red ring"
3 stars"

The new Xbox 360 looks great and is feature packed just like the old one but a slim 360? Microsoft has only just gotten rid of the Red ring problem and making a slim console may just send them back to square one. However on the upside, an internal hard drive to replace the old one that mounted on the top and wireless n networking. Lets hope micro$oft doesn't make too much of a deal about using genuine hard drives, especially when m$ drives are about $100 more than the hard drive itself.
