Documentary about a family living in New Zealand who have many ordeals to get through. This family is in touch with the way our pioneers would have lived. They live a very simple life where fancy possessions are not needed, only a gutsy determination to survive, their love and respect for each other and animals. An amazing film that the whole family can enjoy and learn some valuable life-lessons.

This is a great movie to showcase NZ to the world and it really makes you re-evaluate what is important in life. It totally changed the way I look at everything and I truly appreciate every single day. A must watch movie – 5 stars!

A really great warming film with grounded people. Set in a New Zealand that's feels long forgotten.
One of the few true life stories can you can watch many times and be inspired each time. An education viewing to many.
I love this film. I admire the parent's attitude to life. I love the way the children are taught strong moral values with a love of nature and a lack of interest in consumerism. It's a relief to watch a documentary that allows the story to unfold without having pre-digested commentary.
Every family should watch this.
