Brutal, brilliant & thrilling! Enjoyed this just as much as the first.

I went into this game without any spoilers and vague knowledge that people were mad about the game for some reason. After playing through for the last week, I can happily say it's the most intense, evocative game I've played since Red Dead 2 and I'm lucky to have gone in blind. It carries the weight of the first game's decision at it's core and is fantastic at playing on emotion and using to tell a gripping story.

Gameplay wise it's just as good as the first game with added features across the board. There's a good balance of exploration, puzzles and visceral combat. The difficulty is adjustable at each aspect, including puzzle difficulty, enemy detection, enemy tactics, loot amount etc, so you can tweak the challenge to your satisfaction. A slew of accessibility options allow more people to enjoy the game as they please, and can be great fun in their own right like with the slow-motion combat option.

If you genuinely loved the first game, you'll love this one too.

It looks incredible, especially on a PS4 PRO. The environments and character models are detailed to the point that I was left believing this could be an early PS5 game. On the gameplay side of things, there isn't really anything groundbreaking. It's a simple enough third-person shooter with stealth and crafting elements. Can't say much about the story. It's not particularly complex, and isn't very satisfying to watch unfold. All in all I'd say it's an average experience, mostly carried by the technical aspect of the game. This is what a triple A title should LOOK like, but falls short in pretty much every other department. I'd recommend watching a playthrough on your favorite video streaming service. Don't buy it.

It seems most critics and haters don't know what they are talking about. If you want an honest review then look here. This game is good, but definitely not 10/10 masterpiece. Lots of gameplay and graphical improvements over 1st game obviously. Story is where its decisive, there are pacing issues and the story can get messy sometimes but overall its good. Just don't go expecting it to be better than the 1st, its not. For me I give it 8/10. Its worth the purchase if you are a big fan of 1st game and have an open mind (go with it and don't be a baby having a tantrum because of how certain characters are treated) .

Slow clunky gameplay, beautiful graphics and amazing sound design. The story is a big let down considering it was the first games greatest strength, there's very little here for you if you were a fan of the first games characters.

Gameplay was brilliant, animations were also amazing however the story was so badly written and wasn't coherent at all. Choices were made that were so unrealistic and I was deeply disappointed in this games story. Not recommended.

While the graphics are great and the sound track is beautiful, The Last of Us 2 leaves a bad taste in the mouth of fans of the first game. If you loved the first game and the story it told, this game may not be for you. It seems Naughty Dog decided to do a full 180 on characters in this game – Joel, going from a exceptionally cautious man who would move heaven and earth to see Ellie happy, to someone who forgets how to interact with his adoptive daughter (Ellie) and is now apparently happy to give out a full life story to complete strangers, while also turning his back to them in a dark room. Ellie has also forgotten how she cared about Joel apparently, as unlike in The Last of Us 1, she decides to antagonise and hate on Joel for seemingly no reason. The message of the game is meant to be “Revenge is bad”, and the game while frequently shove it down your throat, but it then goes and rewards the main villain for getting their revenge, as the villain gets to live happily ever after, while Ellie decides to be the bigger person and not get her revenge, and is left crippled and alone as her reward. Nice one Naughty Dog. There are a lot of plot inconsistencies, some small and some much larger, and unfortunately this just seems to be shouted over by rabid fans who will attack people pointing it out. If you can play a heavy story oriented game that seems to be almost dedicated to spitting on the cherished memories formed by its predecessor and seems to be a poorly disguised pain fetish that Neil Druckman seems to have for Ellie then this game may be for you! If you’re at all on the fence about getting this game, my best advice is to look on youtube of someone playing it for a little bit, but if you’re determined to avoid spoilers then wait for the game to go on sale. And if you do get it in the end, then I hope you enjoy it more than we did

Love purchasing all things big and small from Mighty Ape. But this game was a real miss to say the least. Great graphics as per usual, but the storyline went completely off topic.

The 1st The last of us was a awesome game! Part 2 is absolute trash. The writing in this games totally sh$#@ on the story of the 1st game. Don't buy it!!!

Although the internet is committed to hating this game. I think I loved this game. However, it is not flawless.

I found myself once again being completely immersed in a naughty dog game. I don't know if it surpasses last of us 1, but that was always going to be hard as last of us 1 has one of the most emotionally impactful narratives of any story in any medium.

My main criticism without giving away too much spoilers, is not enough time spent with both Joel and Ellie. They made the first game what it was and the parts they do appear together in part 2 are some of the most memorable sections of the story. I must say I loved playing as Ellie (would have preferred to play as her the whole game). I was so devoted to her story and really cared about her, just like the first one. She is more flexible than Joel so can move more freely and climb obstacles as naughty dog introduce some elements we would see in an uncharted game. I liked the skill tree that required you to find training manuals to unlock (it made exploration more rewarding, and if you don't explore certain areas you may miss out on valuable supplies). Crafting is improved with more variation in craftable weapons and if you loved the gameplay like I did in part 1, part 2 is essentially a more refined version of it.

What has many people upset is a story point that happens halfway into the game. It threw me off at first but didn't bother me much after 2–3 hours.
the game still provides players who give it a shot an unforgettable experience. 9/10

Our son (suddenly too sick to go to school…) was pacing on the 19th waiting for his game to arrive until I showed him there was a delay with delivery in Pahiatua. Oh the pain on his face. Then yesterday he heard the Courier post van in the driveway!!! I've never seen such athleticism from him in my life! He looked possessed! He was talking English but it sounded like he was speaking in tongues. Next minute he was like the Flash and disappeared into the depths of his teenage dungeon, oops I mean room and I didn't see him again til 5 pm today. Mum I've clocked it!!!!! That game made my heart race!!!! SOOOOO AWESOME! Definitely a 9.5 out of 10! And the graphics mum!!! You can see dust particles!!! Now I'm off to play it again but this time......... And the rest was illiterate babble! So the house is quiet again as he sears his retinas playing the game!!!

Look, I was a huge fan of the first one and I avoided leaks like the plague, but this game is a bad time. I was so excited for a continuation of Ellie's story above all and I didn't even get that. It's about the mystery woman, which is its biggest downfall. They also try to paint Ellie quite villainous which in the first game was a moral dilemma if good people even existed in their world, so not only is it insulting to the players who have seen her grow and want her happiness but also a rather big “screw you” to the first game. I felt sick to my stomach when I saw where this game was going and if you were a fan of the first one, I beg of you to avoid this sequel.

I absolutely loved this game… Dont let the review bombs and people angry about the leaks make you think this is a bad game. Every story beat was hit perfectly in this master piece, it has definitely earned its place on the pedestal next to, if not above its predecessor. If you liked the first last of us you will enjoy this, even if it is a much darker grittier story than the first game

Didn't really gel in the 2nd one, I think it was alright till my guy died :( , then I lost interest in it..... But that is just me, was always a fan of the combo between Ally and Joe, I only gave 3 star for the story, everything else was a 5 Star

Awsome game which follows on the footsteps of it's predecesor. Definitely worth it.

I've finished it and honestly it was great. The graphics are superb, story is pretty good, the game is so in depth and really takes advantage of the playstation 4 and it's features overall great game and can definitely recommend it don't let the bad reviews effect you picking up this title.

My review is for Mighty Ape not The Last of Us Part 2. Mighty Ape is an awesome service, very fast shipping and great customer service, I would recommend it to anyone who wants great deals and quick postage. A side note: The first The Last of Us game is beautiful and an awesome story and game, if you loved that one then you'll hate Part 2. It is a middle finger to Joel and Ellie, as well as the fans of the first game, save your money, don't buy it. Anyway, thanks Mighty Ape, I'll be a returning customer without a doubt.

Get the game if you loved the first, just skip some scenes, though the story treats beloved characters unwell, the gameplay and visuals are beautiful and satisfying, especially the options, large amount of customizable options, gameplay almost identical to the first, the characters however are low at best, SPOILERS, Ellie sometimes does not feel like ellie, I love a good revenge story, this just isn't it. No, the story isn't worth getting the game.

Without spoiling anything, this is the best game I’ve played all generation, hands down. There are definitely a few narrative choices that I can see why people haven’t liked them, but for me they made sense in the context of the story and made it a better game because of them. Ignore the haters – this is a masterpiece.

I loved The last of Last one and couldnt wait to play the sequel, so glad I did and hoping for a third installment …

Do you want suspense- Do you want to be scared- Do you want game play frustrating enough to keep you going back for more- Do you want to continue a story that gripped you years ago- Then Last of Us II is the game for you.

I don’t get what everyone is complaining about, they must be looking at the surface level. This game is so deep on so many levels, and the story is very dark and real, and shows that actions have consequences. Naughty Dog has provided an outstanding game once again.

I do understand why some have not enjoyed the game, it can be very in your face and confronting. However it is still an excellent game and the storyline certainly takes a challenging path.

This game has brilliant mechanics and graphics, looks stunning and the fluidity between a cutscene and playing is flawless. This is the game for you if: You liked Part 1 Are good with stealth Liked the Unchartered series Want a good story based game with easily solved environment puzzles, good enemies, and an interactive world You're excited to see a queer character in a major videogame (I love Ellie so much, the relationship side is a nice break from the brutality of the world they live in) This is not a game for you if: You don't like gsmes with high levels of violence

I havent been able to stop playing, exploring, wanting the next cutscene or story fragment and hope that other people will try it for themselves.

I am pleased that I spent the extra coin on the special edition for the bookcase. The steelbook and art are excellently delivered and well presented. As for the game, I felt that the combat and general gameplay loop (enter a space, check every surface for stuff, listen to find the enemies, kill them silently, restart if they spot you, rinse and repeat) has not evolved much at all since the last game and at times can feel a little repetitive, especially in the first 10 hours or so. However, the story twists keep this mixed up enough to maintain my engagement for almost the whole 25 hour journey. The environments and level design are absolutely spectacular and ran surprisingly well on my old launch PS4. While the story is VERY far from cheery and easy-going, I believe the tale the developers tell here to be the most engaging and thought-provoking in gaming to date. Don't listen to the nay-sayers, if you're interested (but don't mind an intense and gripping story) pick it up and make up your own mind. 9/10

I never wanted to stop playing! And when I had to stop, all I could think about was playing it again to find out what happens next in the story. It's beautifully written with many intense moments and really makes you question yourself with every encounter. I highly recommend this game to anyone seeking adventure, thrills, beautiful scenery, and intense action! Game of the year material for sure!

Everyone copping this game flack and sh$tting on it for no good reason must’ve been dropped on their heads as a Child. Either way this game is a must play from beginning to end, then you be the judge of it YOURSELF. Do not let anyone else deter you from playing this fantastic game.. In my opinion it’s easily in top 5 games of 2020.. In fact top 10 of the last 5 years to me. Give it a whirl and you’ll see why!

Best Game I've Ever Played!

You can pretty much ignore 90% of the negative review for this game. They are all from pathetic incels that cant handle LGBT characters in video games or are salty about what happened to some of their favorite characters from the first game. Everything about the game is amazing. The graphics, detail and character animations are on another level and I found the story to be compelling from start to finish. If you are a reasonable person that doesnt fall into the catergories I have described you will love it

The perfect sequel the the first installment, The last of us is my favourite game of all time, just keeps you entertained for hours and the storyline is epic.

Best Game I've Ever Played! Its A (MUST) Buy Good Delivery Time

I loved this game, wasn’t as good as the first last of us game, but still a great game, my only issue is it’s long, you’d be better to play this game over a long period of time, rather than sitting down and trying to finish it as fast as possible, once you get near the end, it almost feels like the same situation in a different location, but still a great game, just maybe a tad too long, take it slow and you’ll love it.

I was nervous, I had read some pretty bad reviews, and TLOU 1 is my favourite game of all time. But this didnt disappoint, I really found it enjoyable and looks amazing.

Don't know why people are slamming this game. I guess it's a case of not liking the story because it's not a happy optimistic story and ending-…Sort of like Mass Effect 3 was horrible because the endings all involved Sheppard dying- Personally, I love dark and gritty stories that make you uncomfortable.

I know a lot of fans have given this game a lot of hate but well worth the play. It will definitely go down in history as a game that redefined story telling in games and graphics and gameplay amazing!
