Really nice game. No luck involved, and great longevity since there are 14 factions to choose from and so many variables.
It requires some thinking, so it is not a “casual” game. For the ones familiar with Agricola or similar games, Terra Mystica is a tad more complex. It also takes a bit to prepare (no surprise here), but if you use a shallow box (i.e. the Plano ones to keep fishing gear) to organise the pieces it becomes a breeze.
A two players game takes from 1 (once you are familiar with the game and nobody suffers of analysis paralysis) to 2 hours on average. Add another 30 minutes for each additional player.
After a a couple of weeks from our purchase it is now one of our favourite boardgames, with more than a dozen games already played.
Well worth the buy, greatly recommended!
