This was my first time building a PC and I picked the Raidmax Viper GX to
house my components. I picked this case because I like the way it looked and
it met my requirements that the case had to have at least 2 front mounted USB
3.0 ports, and there was support for 240mm radiator for water cooling the CPU.
The case also came with 2 Raidmax fans supplied, there is room for a total of
6 case fans (including the 2 on the radiator). The inclusion of a 2.5" Sata
“hot swap” port at the top of the is a handy feature, allowing the user to
plug in a 2.5" sata drive without accessing the inside of the case.
I found the process of assembling the PC to be pretty easy and hassle free.
The only problem I had (very small problem) was it was a little tight fitting
the motherboard (ASRock Fatality Gaming K6) in after I installed the water
cooler radiator and fans (Cooler Master Nepton 240m) in the top (it had to be
done in that order) due to the shielding / armour over the i/o ports. My Nepton
came with Cougar fans instead of the original Cooler Master fans, they were
secured with thumb screws that stick out 5–7mm which stopped me installing the
motherboard until I removed them and swapped them for flat headed screws which
solved the issue. I found there was ample room and cutouts for cable
management.
Some people wont like the plastic used for the front and top of the case, it
will attract finger prints. I don't mind it, the rest of the case is made from
steel and is quite sturdy.
