"It's another Layton game!"
5 stars"

Well, the fifth Layton game is finally on the Mighty Ape website!

Nintendo magazine touches briefly on the plot:

"With the help of apprentice Luke Triton and assistant Emmy Altava, Professor Layton has to solve hundreds of puzzles – some related, some ridiculously random – in order to solve the mystery of the Miracle Mask.

This time Layton is in the fictional European city of Montdol, also known as the city of miracles. According to legend, the town was created with the power of the Mask of Miracle, an artifact which grants wishes to anyone who wears it. It has got into the hands of the Miracle Gentleman who has used the mask's power to transform people into statues and horses."

Things you should know:

Although all the previous Layton games are playable on the DS/DSi/DSiXL, this game is available for the 3DS. Hopefully it shouldn't take all your puzzle solving skills to figure out it cannot be played on any other nintendo console.

While this game is the fifth Layton game released, it is the second game chronologically, to fully understand and enjoy the majority of the game you will need to have some background information. I suggest first playing “The Curious Village” (The first game released, the third game chronologically) or “The Spectres Flute” (The fourth game released, the first chronologically) to fully understand the characters and their relationships with each other.

All the Professors Fans have been waiting breathless for this latest installment, especially as Level 5's Akihiro Hino believes that Professor Layton And The Mask Of Miracle is the best game in the series. I suggest that any Layton fans – and any puzzle game fans, for that matter – pick this up as soon as Mighty Ape opens up for pre-orders!
