PS5 Wireless Headset reviews

Amazing headset. My buddies state I'm clear as day. The audio is great and the headset itself is extremely comfortable.

So after a few weeks of trying on this headset the first thing I have to say is that it really hurts my ears after roughly 2 hours of playing. Maybe it's my ears, maybe it's the design of the earcup or both- Apart from that the headset looks and feels great! The aesthetic matches the rest of the PS5 + Accessories. All buttons are located on the left side of the earcup and after a bit of time it's natural to figure out where all the controls are. Voice clarity to others and the 3D audio is above average which is good also.

I'm happy with this headset. I've come from the Gold Playstation headset and find them reasonably similar. The sound on these isn't quite as punchy as the Golds but it all sounds a bit clearer and I think the 3D effect works better. Also the comfort of these is a lot better – the headband strap is a big improvement. I have quite a large round head and these fit nicely. The controls on the left earcup for volume etc all work well.

I was previously using a Razor Kraken headset and thought the wireless, and noise canceling mic would make it worth it. Not very comfortable and the mic isn't great. It's a decent headset but not worth your money.

The band across the top is spring loaded so it constantly applies downward pressure on top of your head which gets old fast. There are very thin weak points in the design of both sides by the ear cups with no flexibility. The ear cups are large faux leather which may look ok now but once that starts flaking off its going to be very annoying. If given the choice of a replacement set or my money back, I would take the money.

Can't mute with controller mute button (literally pops up a message saying it's not supported; other dongle-based headsets work fine), creaky, feels weird on the ears. Sound is OK but nothing spectacular. The Astros I bought in 2016 coupled with the Astro HDMI Audio splitter sound better.

The headset has a good build quality with even weight distribution across the apex head-strap. With the colour and design giving a minimalistic look, it does align well with any further investment one would like to make for any gaming setup with TV or monitors. Due to its ability to be used as wireless, the convenience of wearing it and moving abouts to check on the oven post-pausing the game is great. Also, with the Bluetooth usb, hooking it up onto the PC, and downloading Dolby on Windows store does give it an extra edge should you solely choose this headset as your everyday gaming headset. With Dolby, the sound does really shine allowing a more natural surround experience on PS5 or PC. Hence build, sound quality, compatibility and convenience wise, is a big hit.

However, one flaw that I did not expect is that the left ear cup passive noise seal is not equal to the right ear cup. This is very noticeable if anyone who has moderate level of background noise around their house. The left cup noticeably has less of a passive noise blocking than the right, hence tried wearing it in reverse to check if it was my own hearing, unfortunately it wasn’t. The experience is alike to when your ears inner pressure is uneven and you feel one side is “lighter” than the other in terms of sound level. The possibility could be that the left cup does house every button that controls the features unique to the headset, such as sound, mute and on/off button etc, thus having more openings due to components inside the cup. But at $150 range, give or take of $30 depending on sale weeks, is a miss on a rather simple requirement for a gaming headset, especially with many competitors out there, mind you some choose sound bars rather than headset.

I too purchased it on the basis that I never used a PS official headset before, and also that wanted to add it to my PS accessory collection. Yet, with the pros and cons I would like to give my honest opinion that everyone should consider carefully prior to purchase.

Headphones are poor quality. Had it for just over a year and the screw that adjust the fitting over your head snapped off. 12 month warranty is expired (by 3 weeks) so went to a electronic fixing store who then said the screw was specially made and it would be best to go to Sony. Went Sony store to ask whether they could repair but referred me to a place where they fix Sony/PlayStation products in Onehanga. Went to place and they said they don’t repair PlayStation products and would be best to ring PlayStation, though I was cautious at the fact the warranty expired. So… rung PlayStation, asking whether they could do anything about it, or if they could refer me to a place where I could get the special screw repaired. Their constant reply was that there wasn’t anything they can do and there wasn’t repair store they could refer me to. So loosing my patience over this matter, I write this review because though the warranty has expired, the product only lasted another 3 weeks. As simple as a screw could not be solved.

Overall, Such poor service from PlayStation, especially its customer service who couldn’t find any sort of remedy to a PlayStation customer. Absolute robots at their job.

Up to you whether you want to purchase these, but when things go bad, don’t expect any help from PlayStation!

Sony's Pulse 3D are definitely one of the wireless headphones of all time and their batteries don't last very long

Wonderful fit. Online buddies say my voice is nice and clear, and better than the old ps4 set. Can wear for long periods and no issue. Love the monitor option which feeds back mic to the headset so you hear yourself, and don't end up yelling. For the price, this headset will definitely help your gaming and movie watching needs.

The sound quality is the best I've heard so far from head a headset, opening inventory and doing things with items has very subtle sounds, voices in games very clear and base is very delicate but very good. Hearing sounds from all around. Recently a little cut out of signal on conan ps4

Pros: Highlight is that it's got 2 volume slider, one for the loudness, another to control the proportion of Game VS Chat, also magically filters out feedback when you use it to chat with friends in the same room. Cons: Too big, and the size adjustment is a bit loose, it falls lower off my ears after wearing for hours and I have to re-adjust it. I figure this is likely designed for a standard male's head, my head circumference is pretty small even between females so the size really sucks, I have to put some padding between the silicon band and the plastic top to stop this headset from falling too far. Not recommended for kids / female or anyone with small head like me.

Bought this thinking it was the best for the ps5 turns out the audio is good but the mic is muffled and friends couldn’t hear what I was saying half the time ingame when in a match, would not recommend if your a competitive gamer.

Very disappointed and feel ripped off.” I am very pleased to report that Mighty Ape have replaced the headset which arrived within 2 days of my complaint being investigated and completed. These really sound great and I'd be overjoyed with them other than the pinched ears. Hurt to wear after an hour or so, haven't yet discovered if I can adjust that but it seems not.

I bought this headset hesitantly. My previous headset was the Sony PS4 Gold Wireless, which malfunctioned after 18months. (Battery charge and power issues).

Anyway, this PS5 headset follows the same feel, design and sound. Comfortable, all button controls on one side. Same colours as the PS5. Music comes across rich but filtered at times. No issues using it for voice chats eg. Teams, Zoom etc.

Cons: requires a dongle to function with any device (wirelessly). I don't expect the earcup material to last too long.

I have 2 other top brand of headphones that I can wear for hours without discomfort. My ears hurt after an hour or so wearing these. But having said that they connect instantly and the sound is great. Easy to use.

Great for the price, great quality and easy to use and setup. Perfect for the casual player who doesn't have 500 bucks for a pro gamer headset.

Excellent value for the price. Fits OVER the ear (and my ears aren't small lol) so you don't get sore ears after a few hours. Sound quality is great and the design fits nicely with the PS5. Lots of buttons to adjust volume, mute etc. Very happy with them. :)

After 8 months mine broke at the ears now I have to buy my a nother set 😡

If you're after a good quality headphone highly recommend these I'm not usually a headphone guy but after using these I'm hooked the 3D feature definitely makes the difference

The headset is good and does everything I expected (no experience with higher spec headphones here). If you remember the PS4 headsets, biggest improvement is the connection time (<1s vs 3s) and battery life. Also the mute is hardwired, so you can always boot the headset in a mute state which is good. USB-C is great, sound quality IMO is same as the latest PS4 version. I only wish the dongle was USB-C as well.

Best feeling headset ive ever had. Sound is real clear and the fact they are NOT noise cancelling is a great combination.
