Although this is aimed at children its even better for those who just dont want to use the 3d on the 3ds. Why pay $300 when you probably wont use the 3d. This feels much stronger than the 3ds/ds and actually feels more comfortable to hold than the clamshell design of other nintendo handhelds even if you dont buy any 3ds games for a while you could buy this for when that special exclusive you eant comes out.

Bought this for my children (7 and 4) and it's been a huge hit. Easy to use, seems to be robust and overall excellent value for money.
So basically for the price-conscious gamer and those who were scared of ruining their (already) square eyes. It doesn't fold over but that might just be a blessing in disguise – since anything with a flip screen could become detached through accident.
I really like the ergonomics of the 2DS – it's comfortable to hold and it's sturdy. I know some people say the thing is ugly but I have to disagree. To me, it's just very retro and reminiscent of the Game Boy Color system. There's a slide sleep switch but no wireless button. But that's okay, since you can easily adjust that on the Home screen.
The SpotPass and StreetPass functionalities are excellent. There's just no other system that allows you to communicate the way you do with a 2DS/3DS. There's also a plethora of games and apps in the eShop.
All in all, bulkier but no less fun. :D

Games are expensive. I can only justify new games on exactly their release date. Probably, retailers would even sell them less, like what JB HIFI usually does. But, the game library is huge and it's usually reason enough to buy it.
It's very comfortable but not as comfortable as the PS VITA. The edges, though rounded still hurts after some time playing. The 3DS hardware is super outdated. A tablet of the same price would perform better. Now that they released 2DS really cheap, it's actually worth it. With the games I'm playing on it right now, the console is always beside me.
More worth it than the 3DS or the 3DS XL. Nintendo made it a requirement that all games on the system should be playable without 3D, so what's the point of that expensive feature- T
He 2DS suffers screen size and I would've liked a bigger screen.
If you're new to nintendo, it might also annoy you that digital purchases are tied to the system, not to an account unlike every other console in the market. And Digital Prices are always = to the retail prices. Yeah I don't understand why as well.
P.S.
The White/Red model gets dirty very easily. You should at least consider getting the Black/Blue model if you don't want a dirty looking 2DS
Product is fantastic. I have also owned the ‘upgraded’ 3DS before, and in all honesty prefer the simple outlay of the 2DS. Bar not having 3D functions (which are certainly not necessary) it can do everything a 3DS can. Worthwhile buy.
Che this thing is choice works real good and looks dope bruh would recommend. Monster hunter 4 is the jam buy it too
HI in my opinion the Nintendo 2ds is the best handheld I have ever had, everyone saying that it is comfortable to hold is right, I have no problem using it, I love its range of games available and also the ones that are not out yet, I have 3 games which are tom clancys splinter cell 3d,james noirs Hollywood crimes and tekken 3d and I have enjoyed playing through all of them, and it is also good for internet browsing and youtube which you have to download from the eshop but it is free and also worth getting. overall it is and awesome game handheld which is also really good for anyone in the family, not just kids.
This is a great deal because you can play every 3DS game on a 2DS except a 2DS is cheaper.
Nothing wrong with the 2ds, if you're like me and hardly use the 3D feature then this is for you.
My daughter loves it – replaced her old Nintendo ds – easy to use she didn't read instructions and uses all the functions!
Really like it, just wish the lower screen was a bit larger, but feels great holding it, very cute/comfortable – still wouldn't have bought a dsxl as prefer the way it feels holding this over the classic ds style
