I have been a huge fan of the series since the first game and I am very exited that they are releasing a special edition with all three game together. Taking the role of “Shepherd” you choose your gender, back story and you do the story the way you want to. Do you shoot first and talk latter- or do you question the different people and try to figure out a peaceful solution, it is up to the player to craft the story. The choices you make carry on to the next game which makes each play through different and eunice to the player.
That squad mate you save in the first game becomes a clan leader in the second who will help you fight the antagonists, but if you kill said squad mate you will have to deal with his brother who may help you but at a higher cost…
In short, get these games… It is the best sci fi trilogy in the medium.
