If you like single player, open world RPG games, then you will like this. There are two play styles. Traditional honourable samurai or sneaky back stabby ninja. Lots of side missions and heaps of cool things to find and it looks amazing in 4K on the PS4 Pro. I love the duels too! I
If you are even moderately interested in Samurai or Japanese culture you should pick this up. I'm maybe 20 hours into the game, and I love the world. Sure it has a significant amount of the ‘open-world’ tropes but the setting and characterisation makes it interesting and always fresh. The combat and upgrade system feels worthwhile and has the right amount of depth – not to mention the cosmetic system as well. I have a bit of a thematic bias as I'm very interested in the culture, but I'm sure anyone whould love this game on the PS4.
Honestly by far one of the best games this year so far, I found myself wondering off to explore the beautiful & captivating landscape discovering Fox shrines (with the occasional pats) and relaxing hot springs, however, travel into a zone that outranks you and your gear a prompt warning, ignore and you'll be punished. Combat is exciting and rewarding especial with dodges, parries and performing the perfect standoff. The voice acting from both Japanese and English voice acting was impactful and believable, however, mocap of the model's lips not synchronise at times is beyond noticeably and immersion-breaking. It could feel similar to the likes of a roller coaster, once it's over you might find yourself thinking, “wait, it's over-” The story could end here comfortably with maybe a few DLC's but has the potential for a second story, well at least some of us hope. I would, and have recommended this experience to everyone.
This is not just a fighting game, but a thinking game too. Thoroughly enjoying every part of it.
The game I wished red dead would be . And almost got their .
Great story and heaps of things to do and collect
Ghost of Tsushima is simply a game everybody should experience. Artistic, creative, dynamic. A game unafraid to juxtapose serenity and respite between moments of intense violence. This is a game you didn't know you needed until you sit down and play it. A master stroke of gaming; this is easily my GOTY, offering a wide variety of enjoyable activity, side quests, missions, and gameplay mechanics. A synthesis of what other more focused games may have done better, but certainly with a fresh and unique world and environment. The original additions are what really stand out; a guiding wind for a compass; the showdown mechanic, composing haiku, collecting singing crickets, following wild foxes to hidden items…the charm overruns in this game splendidly, and the color palette is second to none. Don't even blink, just buy this game and fall into its depth of story, character, and world.
They did pretty good with the music and graphics of the game and loads of collectables, good fighting system.
I preordered this and have had to motivate myself to play past the first few hours. The graphics are stunning. Absolute treat to look at. But it lacks the gripping enticement other RPGs like H0D or RDR2 had which made me not want to put them down. It isn't a bad game, it's just not that good. I hate the controls and mechanics. I hate the standoffs. I do not care of any character I have come across. I wont comment on the story because I have not finished it but it really isnt endearing to me.
If you liked Sekiro, then dont get your Hope's up for GOT.
It's just an assasins creed game. Plays like every other one but with worse controls and a forgetable story.
This is a gorgeously animated game with great gameplay, fight techniques and immersive cultural context. Definitely recommend as a must-have game!
Superb gameplay with fantastic graphics with the 4k update for PS5. I'm glad I waited to play this on PS5 as it showcases well. It does have an Assassins Creed feel except with a much better story and dialogue. Enjoying thus far.
As usual, MightyApe showed a great deal and once ordered, arrived within 24 hours hassle-free! What more can you ask for-
The game itself is fantastic and lives up to its reputation!
Amazing !
Brilliant game also beautiful.
This is my first game I've ever Platinumed. I couldn't stop myself from playing, it's mesmerizing!! Recommended to all RPG lovers. Loved every second of Jin Sakai's Journey. ❤
Awesome game
Seriously good. Keep it away from your kids unless you want them to grab branches and have sword fights.
I haven't touched my ps4 for a while and this game seemed promising with all the gameplay trailers. I very much enjoyed this game by Sucker Punch because of its story and gameplay. The setting is beautiful and aesthetically pleasing during several cutscenes. Would recommend it to anyone who loves hack and slash games! This game also has an interesting skill tree that makes killing the bad guys more satisfying. 10/10 !
