"One Prequel to keep an eye on!"
4 stars"

Shaping up to be a great game (based on all trailers and previews I've seen) and is cool because the game is based on the Character “Baird” before he meets up with Marcus and Dom (Gears of War 1–3)

Definitely on the “to do list” for 2013.

"Pleasantly surprised"

I've played gears of war since its original release back in 06 (and still play gears 3 religiously today) so I was a bit skeptical at first, considering it's a spin off and its only been a year and a bit since the last gears. However, after watching previews/plays/features etc, it seems the people responsible for Bulletstorm (an amazing game) are on hand with this one too.

features

  • able to ‘fall’ and jump off ledges
  • new weapons added to the arsenal of classics
  • free for all
  • game specific maps (domination/overrun etc)
  • new overrun mode (play as gears AND locust)
  • arcade style campaign play

I do believe this is going to be a winner. I will be pre-ordering

Purchased on Mighty Ape

i have been looking into this game quite a bit and there are some pretty cool features but also some slightly concerning changes to the gears of war franchise, for example the new game mode called overrun where players take the team of either the cog or the locust seems rather exciting especially if you enjoy horde and beast modes from gears of war 2 and 3, things that are concerning are around the changes that are being made to some of the multiplayer elements for example the grenades are going to be glowing and no longer able to be used as proximity mines, but in saying that it will be could to get some more story behind the franchise and see more of what transpired in earlier times after the dreaded E-DAY (emergence day)

recently i have learned of more changes that concern me th removal of a key mechanic called down but not out(DBNO) and the removal of the locust as playable characters in vs multiplayer

Can't wait for this game to come out, seening the trailers, demos, The Guts of Gears Trailer (http://www.youtube.com/…=U_OApVgHkOI) has made me excited, I just cannot wait to play the campaign and the new OVERRUN mode, I'm a biggest gears fan and I'm looking forward for this game to be released.

"Rad. More Gears."
1 stars"

Wow-wee more of the same. Anyone who has Gears 1, 2 or 3 need not apply. I'll give you a hint on how it ends… Boring! Microsoft need some decent exclusives ASAP
