"Final Fantasy Fal'Cie"
5 stars"

The plot of Final Fantasy XIII revolves around the fal'Cie, beings created from crystals residing inside them. People who are marked by the fal'Cie for greater purposes are called l'Cie. Each l'Cie has a Focus, a goal the fal'Cie wants him or her to fulfill within a certain amount of time; however, the fal'Cie do not explicitly say what the goal is. l'Cie gain the ability to summon Eidolons (monsters who fight with the l'Cie), but this ability comes with a price: if an l'Cie runs out of time or dies before completing his or her Focus, he or she becomes a monster known as a “Cie Corpse.”

Some thirteen centuries ago, a fal'Cie constructed a paradise for humanity: the shell-like city of Cocoon, which floats high above the surface of the world known as Pulse. Both Pulse and Cocoon are maintained by their own fal'Cie. Cocoon's fal'Cie created life forms and machines for its inhabitants to use, and humanity flourished. Over time, the people of Cocoon began to fear for the safety of their world, and they worried that it would be cast down from the sky into the hell that they saw Pulse to be.

In the present day, the wilderness of Pulse has strange effects on people, and the theocratic government of Cocoon, known as Sanctum, quarantines and exiles anyone who has been influenced by Pulse from Cocoon with the help of its mighty army, PSICOM. However, as Snow leads Team Nora in a vain attempt to stop the purging of civilians, the mysterious Lightning fights her way past PSICOM soldiers to find Pulse's fal'Cie with the aid of Sazh. Through a chain of events, these three, along with two exiles, Vanille and Hope, are chosen by the fal'Cie of Pulse against their will to become l'Cie, and with that become enemies of humanity who are tasked with bringing about the downfall of Cocoon.

"The World's Foremost RPG Series Returns"
5 stars"

After a 5 year hiatus from the last numerical entry into the series, Square Enix have been hard at work developing what is set to be the biggest RPG game in recent memory.

being one of the lucky ones that managed to play an early build of the game via Advent Children Complete, it's safe to say that Square Enix are going to blow the RPG world off it's feet with a combination of freeform combat and turn based combat.

Once again, Tetsuya Nomura, famed Character designer for Final Fantasy's VII, VIII and X and also for the Kingdom Hearts Series, has returned to give us some new memorable characters with some depth to them.

Players control Lightning, who has been chosen by the gods of this world, the fal'cie to become and l'cie to carry out an unknown, destined task to help save the world of Cocoon and the planet that surrounds it, Pulse. other Notable characters that have been revealed are, Snow Villiers, Oerba Dia Vanille, Sazh Katzroy, Hope Estheim and Serah Farron. All of which are marked by the fal'cie and will be playable characters in the game.

Preorder this now. And prepare for the biggest game of 2010. Final Fantasy XIII

"Another Square Fail"
1 stars"

Squaresoft were fantastic, I hate to say it but when Mistwalker left they've turned to garbage. I've been watching trailer after trailer and reading reviews of this game. While the graphics are flashy and the game looks great, it seems to lack the depth and immersiveness of the earlier games like FFVII, FFVIII, FFIX and even FFX. I'll get it release day like the rest but am not expecting much from them.

"FF IIIX Looks Superb But Will FF Versus IIIX Be Better?"
5 stars"

I've did some research googling on Google and also other game reviewers (Edge, IGN etc) and of course you can expect the best RPG virtually alive (FF) in our Era on PS3 (even XBOX 360 now) to be epic which i believe but what i want to mention was the character on Versus who caught my attention.

Noctis Lucis Caelum the main character on Versus looks awesome and reminds me alot of Cloud Strife off FF VII just he has Black hair and that cool look. I mean when i saw Lightning (FF XIII Main Character) a girl gracing FF13 as the main character but then i saw Noctis Lucis Caelum and his plot sounds much better as in depth.

But seeing previews and pictures of FF13 looked damn awesome with the new “break state” feature which seemed pretty mean which you can inflict heavy damage after you have a high chain combo achieved. Also finally when you finish a battle your “Party” regains all HP back which is a major helping factor to me hehe.

But again check out FF Versus XIII because Noctis Lucis Caelum looks flippin awesome also its ONLY for PS3 (whoo hoo). Its a whole different story but same world and era. I've also read its going to be the most Darkest Final Fantasy yet (thats BAD in a good way haha).

"Impressions from the demo"
1 stars"

After my friend spent 120bucks for the extended advent children blu ray i got to play the FF13 trail demo. It was pretty good, though in japanese the battle system combined turn based and real time, you choose i command which your character does and you can chain commands together. Seems rather linear how you move from battle to battle but looking promising.

"Another Square Enix miss"
1 stars"

Im starting to think the magic that was squaresoft is lost forever. This game looks excellent in some ways but its changes are very odd. For example, half the game is completely linear, when your main character dies its a game over and your party is healed after every battle. Ive read some reviews and it seems like this game has been not what it could have been, I will not be buying it day one but would consider buying it when it hits the 60 dollar mark.

"Top game of 2010?"
5 stars"

Quite possibly the top game of 2010. I say this as no other big title has as big a following or looks so good pre-release.

Sure Cataclysm is a contender, but completely changing a game many have played for 5 years fills me with apprehension (or hopeful optimism), whereas I'm totally buzzing for this title. Download the “International Trailer” from PSN if you need further convincing.

60 hours of gameplay WITHOUT doing sidequests = win.
