The demo's been out for a week on all consoles now, and I've been thoroughly enjoying my PS4 Fifa 15 experience so far. What struck me straight away is the significant improvement in realism – the way the game is played is a huge improvement over last year's rushed effort of a football game. Every aspect of play: attack, defense, goalkeeping, has been considerably made more realistic.
The player models look excellent, as EA have scanned the real faces of players, which makes for more realistic character sprites than ever before. The improved player emotion adds another element to the gaming experience; a truckload of new celebrations, reactions from the players to referee calls and other action on the pitch is top notch. The trailers and screenshots promise more authentic stadium environments, as the specific fans of each team now act as they would in real life matches.
The demo only showcases one stadium, Anfield, and as a Liverpool FC supporter nothing gets me more hyped for a match of football than seeing the Reds faithful raising their scarves high in the air chanting historic songs of years past; EA have nailed this aspect of the game this year.
Overall verdict: can't wait for the 26th September release date. It promises to be an excellent year of FIFA football.
