From the 2d experience to the 3d experience – There are many (if not most of them) scenes that have a 3d effect to them, from an outside shot, to a dinner table shot… They were all impressive but I can't say whether it is because of playing through a PS3, through a 32" LCD tv and sitting 1 1/2 – 2 metres away from the screen (because sitting closer made everything larger and more 3d), but 1/4 of the scenes were a bit blurry. This could play different on alternative hardware. However, the movie itself doesn't fail at providing a “great night in” either way you watch it! The theme is original and playful too. I'd recommend to anyone that likes Tim Burton films…

Wonderful Escapism
The ‘claymation’ in this film looks stunning in HD, as you would expect from the director of Nightmare before Christmas. In fact it improves significantly on that film; and is a breath of fresh air when compared with the glut of samey computer-animated movies these days!
The film itself is captivating for all ages, though maybe a little scary in parts for younger viewers. Do yourself a favour and pick this one up.
Don't buy this for the 3D gimmicks, but do buy it if you like engaging well made claymation/animated movies.
Diverges from the (excellent) book only slightly, and not enough to annoy.
Good voice acting, beautiful to look at, and great soundtrack
