"Sweet game"
4 stars"

This is a really good turn in the series in my opinion. Free roaming in burnout is so much fun because there's so much stuff to do when you're just cruising around. I love the intensity of having to race on roads with no boundaries instead of a set circuit. It gives the game a little more of a challenge than previous burnouts. Just a brilliant game. If you think free roaming sucks then you won't after playing Burnout Paradise so don't be put off just because of that. Obviously the graphics are better and crash physics are really impressive. Love seeing my car crumple accordingly in a head-on collision in slow motion :) Speed in this game is pretty staggering at times too.

Just get this game if you like Burnout and if you've never played it, start here.

"Must have arcade racer"
5 stars"

A truly brilliant arcade racing game that sticks to many of the traditions set by the earlier Burnout titles. The free roam driving adds an entirely new aspect to the game. The graphics are truly stunning, and once the game is up and running, load times are non-existent. Definitely a game worth adding to your collection :) The crash physics really do live up to the “next gen” expectations

"Beautiful Disaster! (The good type)"
5 stars"

Burnout Paradise… wow. What can I say about this? Not only is this near perfect, but I'd have to say the only flaws I have with this game are ones that are caused by my own expectations. (I'm into RPG's thus prefer the robust customization options in Need for Speed games. ;] )

This game has it all going on! Beautiful environments, amazing graphics, a steady framerate, cool crashes, fast paced gameplay and a constant stream of new content! Though a departure from the old Burnout games, Burnout Paradise works well with the open world gameplay, giving you the freedom to explore Paradise City at your own leisure.

You begin with the whole city. No blockages or invisible walls, the whole city. Of course if you want to enjoy it the very most you'll most likely want to participate in events to upgrade to better cars. The city has plenty of events scattered all round, from standard races to your very own favourite Road Rage. The driving mechanics are still first class and the cars all respond like you'd hope they would in real life.

One thing that has improved is the crashes and damn do they look good. From small scratches to dents to full blown carnage. But one thing I did find about the crashes is after the first week of them the magic does finally wear off which is a shame. Enjoy it while you can!!

Burnout Paradise has a wealth of downloadable content and as of now, it's all free! From new online challenges, a whole new bike addon which wasn't included originally, night and day cycle! Critereon have got to be one of the most generous game developers in this days greed driven era of gaming.

There are plenty of cars to unlock and hundreds of secret passages, stunt jumps and barricades to smash through. ;D Yes there is still NOS and doing stunts and tricks refills it. There are three different types of cars all catering to your different needs. Stunt, Speed and Aggression.

Though this game has no car customization options, if your a pure racing fanatic and enjoy freedom, you will absolutely love this game. A full five out of five for Burnout Paradise. Buy it. Now.

"Burnout makes HD debut"
5 stars"

I bought this new release Burnout game on PS3 with no expectations, and I was impressed! Definitely a big improvement to the last series, gameplay has improved, and more challengers mode, Burnout in HD on the LCD TV does look beautiful, when you drive along the river/seaside of the roads, you can really see the water flowing nicely, graphically brilliant, a must buy for any burnout and racing car game fans!

"Over hyped."
3 stars"

Dont believe the hype!I did and man was I let down. I was amazed that such a poorly finished game has scored so high in review sites.

Key aspects of this title really need sorted out. No configuration for the controller which means your stuck with the strange layout (shoulder buttons for accelerate/brake).

Camera angle is far too low and non-adjustable, which makes watching upcoming corners and turns trickier then they should be for this type of racer.

Game menu is poorly laid out and sadly you are forced to drive to all events which really takes time.

City navigation and map is impossible as you constantly pause and check for positioning.

Other than those gripes the game looks good and the sound is pretty good (apart from the annoying DJ).

With this game you end up just riding about getting lost and wandering what the point is.

Lots of crashes and jumps and errr..... that's about it......probably better off with GTA for a free roaming. Buy only if you are a die hard burnout fan.

"Fantastic Game!"
5 stars"

Burnout Paradise is an absolute blast to play. The driving mechanics are at their arcade best here and the sense of speed from some of the vehicles is a joy to experience on the expansive hillside or the claustrophobic city streets.

Offline, there are plenty of events to compete in across a truly impressive city. Sweeping hillsides, short-cut ridden streets, an enormous dam, twisting highways, a sun-soaked beach and a naval harbour come together to make a remarkable backdrop for insane stunts and crashes. Races, stunt runs and road rages can be found at any intersection.

Online, up to 8 players can free ride around the city completing individual or co-operative challenges. Or, the more competitive gamers can try improve their online rank by competing in ranked events such as races.

Burnout Paradise is a truly fun game, which has a fantastic online community and is still to this day receiving support from its developer Criterion via DLC. Post release support has included the addition of Motorbikes, Trophies (PS3), extra Freeburn challenges, paint jobs, music… and the list goes on.

I've never got so much out of a single racing game.

Remarkable.

"Great game, must own for ps3"
5 stars"

As a reply to the last review, obviously some people are to lazy and would rather choose an event rather than drive to it, the menu is so simple I've seen an 8 year old fly through without any trouble and as for the brake and accelerator buttons… I haven`t played a racing game where the button layout is any different since I played racing games on the PS1.

Quit complaining… with over 1,000,000 players world wide and growing fast, I think that alone speaks for itself.

The hardest thing about the game is online racing with players racing with perfection… It`s bloody fantastic.

Come on people, value for money here!
