Astro A40 Gaming Headset Black (PS3, PC, Xbox 360) reviews

Tested headset for the last week and found it very good with only 1 complaint. The Mic has is very poor sound quality. Have found the solution by replacing the USB power supply to the the amp with a larger Diameter USB cable. with Fixes the poor mic and Sounds even better. Would give it 5Stars but it shouldn't of been sent out with and inadequate rated USB cable in the first place..

I had the eariler Astro A40 Headphones and mix amp, this new 2013 version of the Headphones are audibly better than the old versions…the new mix amp pro has the extra four EQ modes which is a welcome addition over the previous version…this allows to inject more bass into some games that need more bass impact. I will however be keeping the old mix amp version as well because I felt it sounded better, a more natural balanced base and mid-section, with playing music and when paired up with a high end pair of Headphones (Ultrasone Edition 8's) sounded better than the Mix Amp Pro combined with the 2013 A40's…however the 2013 A40 and Mix Amp pro combination is unbeatable in the Gaming and Movie area…only my 2 cents

If you have the money and are looking for a quality gaming headset this is an excellent choice.

I bought a pair of A40's from Astrogaming over a year ago and they have been perfect. They are the most comfortable headset I have used and tend to wear them 6+ hours a day without any kinds of discomfort. The sound quality has been good but I may just not have a very good ear. The mic has worked without a problem and the customisability is pretty cool. I have used other similar priced headsets which have all either broke or been too uncomfortable to use long term.

I wouldn't considered another brand after having had these for a year.

If you have the money and are looking for a quality gaming headset this is an excellent choice.

If you have had Turtle beaches even gorgeous trittons then you have thought you had the best. Nothing comes close to the comfort and beauty of astro's. I never understood sound wh**ing until I put them on in a game of search and destroy. I would say these are my most prized posessions. I love them for multi player and to get lost in campaigns for hours. It creates a whole new world but if you have a girlfriend or boyfriend expect them to be jealous if they are not a hardcore gamer.

Very fast delivery, product was brand new in unopened box and works perfectly. Only problem was the box the item was packaged in was alittle beat up but thats most likely australia post with their dodgey transport. Very happy and will purchase from mightyape in future :)

The quality of audio is so good

Great headset. Clarity with a good clean bass kick. Found these to be way better than my previous Trittons AX720 only because the earpieces broke off and were tapped back on. I highly recommend these to the avid FPS gamer keen on locating the usual elephants or dead silence players ingame.

Loved this headset best headset I've had, better then most of the headsets that are on the market. Kills all Turtle Beaches and Tritons I have used. Crisp clear mic sounds and good sound and sound deadening.

when I was discussing to a mate who is a sound tech on what headset to buy I was like “how about a Turtle Beach-” he laughed at me and replied “most people don't know that TB's are just rubbish people use them because they know the name” he spent a few days looking at all the headsets on this site and at the time there was only a few headsets on his buy these list this was at the top as it is good bass, treble, response time, sound quality mic quality and price. A MUST BUY!!

a real shame that when something broke in my headset in the first few months I have had to wait almost 3 months for a replacement for this headset as even though there is a lot of other headsets out there that I can get today for the same price I won't settle for the garbage that is another headset as to get the same build quality and sound quality I would have to pay twice the price

So in review sad that I have to wait for them but buy this headset as it is totally worth it

I've use a lot of different brands of headsets. But these Astro A40s blow the rest out of the water. These new 2013 edition with the new mixamp pro has great eq options for all round needs.
