What Doesn't Kill You
Brian (Mark Ruffalo) and Paulie (Academy Award nominee Ethan Hawke, Best Actor In A Supporting Role for Trining Day, 2001) are lifelong friends who have grown up like brothers on the gritty streets of south Boston.
They do whatever it takes to survive, starting early as street thugs living by criminal code, doing petty crimes and misdemeanour's that have now grown into increasingly more serious offences. Eventually they will fall under the sway of organised crime boss Pat Kelly (Brian Goodman). As Brian becomes increasingly lost in a haze of drugs and jobs even the love he has for his wife (Amanda Peet) and their two sons does not seem like it will be enough to redeem him. As Paulie plans ‘one last heist’ that will take the two of them to pull off, Brian is torn between the desire to be a good husband and the lure of easy money.
