Purchased as a gift, so therefore have not had feed back from the person I gave it to yet. They were happy to receive it though.

Description

The mere mention of Vera Lynn's name evokes images of London skies filled with barrage balloons, and Britons riding out the German blitz in shelters and underground stations. Dubbed “The Forces' Sweetheart”, Vera Lynn's voice was heard over the airwaves by millions, bringing comfort and happiness.

On this commemorative DVD, Dame Vera Lynn provides thoughtful commentary on the songs which, with their message of courage, determination and indomitability of spirit, formed a soundtrack to a momentous and unforgettable part of history and our lives.

Also included is a bonus audio CD with historic recordings of excerpts from some of Winston Churchill's finest speeches, plus 25 classic wartime favourites such as Moonlight Serenade, I'll Be Seeing You, It's A Lovely Day Tomorrow, It Had To Be You, (We're Gonna Hang Out) The Washing on the Siegfried Line and Now Is The Hour.

Artists include Vera Lynn, Gracie Fields, George Formby, Dinah Shore, The Andrews Sisters, Glenn Miller, Bing Crosby, Bob Hope, Judy Garland and many more.
