Firstly, and there is no getting around it, I have a big head. The standard mic on a normal XBox headset (or 3rd party derivative) misses my mouth by quite some distance nestling comfortably on my cheek at any given moment and turning my ‘charging forward now’ message to my online gaming friends into ‘mfffcg fheih noh’. No such worries with the Warhead, the mic picks up my voice with ease.

The audio out of this thing is great, I have it hooked up via optical cable to my amp rather than directly to the XBox so I can listen to movies and TV with it as well. A good range of frequencies can be heard with clarity and responsiveness. It has enough power to ramp the volume up to a decent level without distortion. I'm pretty fussy with audio (spent 12 years so far in professional audio), so for me to be happy with the sound the Warhead throws out is a big plus.

It is completely wire free playing games on the XBox, no wires from the headset to controller at all. Ace. Carry on your gaming chat while creating a sandwich masterpiece in the kitchen without worrying about getting mayo all over your controller.

Its reassuringly heavy without being too heavy to leave on your head for hours. I've managed a 4 gaming hour stint without any adverse effects whatsoever, and I'm pretty sure I could go for longer without hassle. Its comfy on the ears and it has plenty of range to adjust the headband size.

As I'm writing this, I'm still on my first battery charge, this is after several evenings worth of gaming and a couple of movies. You get 2 batteries anyway, so the action doesn't stop for long.

Minor annoyance – so far (and I haven't read the manual of course) I haven't found a way to determine battery charge without your XBox being on (when the battery charge is displayed alongside your controller's battery charge). I guess as most people would be using this on their XBox its not much of a worry, but being as I'll be using it for movies as well it would have been nice.

Overall a great product though and worth the price tag (especially as I got it in the boxing day sale!), definitely glad I got this headset.

The warhead is a very nice headset. The surround sound is very nice. The batteries charge very fast only taking 5 or 6 hours to fully charge but you get over 13 hours of use. Chat works well but I feel as though I sort of have to yell into the mic for it to pick up my voice. The only problem I have with the headset is it has a slight amount of static in each earcup but it's easy to deal with. Although thus far the chat doesn't work with the xbox one or ps4 it is still a really nice buy.

"Excellent - When they're actually working"

Bought these in October 2012 as soon as they came out. I was looking for a top end set of completely wireless headphones and looked at all the market leaders before settling on the Warheads. The sound quality and sound stage in these 7.1 headsets are awesome and I love the fact that they are completely wireless including chat without any dongles or cables. Unfortunately, since they arrived, they have had an intermittant fault where they lose sound completely in the right speaker. It seems like a loose wire or contact inside as tapping the left earpiece sometimes gets the thing working again. It has become too bad to ignore any longer and I am going to send them back for warranty replacement. I have just contacted Mighty Ape regarding this issue, so we shall see how they are with their returns policy.

"The best."

The best headset I have bought so far. No wires to connect into xbox controller and xbox. No annoying cords and connections to audio adaptors just a power cord and a optical cord from the main base to the back of the Xbox 360 Slim or through the provided adaptor for the original Xbox 360. Its so good having this headset with no cords or clanky irritating long wires. The instructions for the device are relatively straight forward so long as the headset and Console and controller sync accordingly so that you can actually hear sound in the headset, especially when online multiplayer, etc. The sound and audio is brilliant, playing online is such a breeze. This headset and you, hears everything, its so funny when a noob tries to get the drop on me and I can hear his every move. The trick now is getting use to hearing everything and adjusting to getting familiar with where the sounds come from.

Satisfactory audio, the two battery system is good unfortunately the mic quality is pretty poor and there's a few other faults like one earphone not working occasionally…

"Well worth it."

I purchased mine about a week ago and I am honestly amazed at the clarity of the 7.1 dolby. Absolutely brilliant. I play alot of FPS games and now I can hear the enemy TRY and sneak up on me. One thing though, brace yourself when you fire off a rifle for the first time, I nearly needed new pants. The microphone is clear and free of distortion so my friends hear me clear as a bell and I don't have to yell down the mic. Muting the mic or the game sound is a great feature but most of all being completely wireless is awesome. You dont have to carry the controller with you while you talk with your mates as you get your pizza. These are on par with the other leading brands out there and are priced very well. For those on a tighter budget that want a headset for their xbox 360 this is the one for you. Best investment so far.

The Tritton Warhead provides a true wireless headset experience compared to other headsets I have owned. Because it runs on the same RF as standard Microsoft brand headsets, it requires zero cabling on the user end.

Audio wise, this is definitely the best headset I have owned. Game sound is excellent – crisp and clear without being loud and overwhelming. Voice is also clear, and the VSM feature allows you to hear your own voice (essential when using noise cancelling cans such as these, to avoid yelling into the Mic).

Battery life is STUNNING – a single battery last 13–15 hours, and a new battery is available when the first runs out through the charging portal on the base unit. One complaint around the battery: No audio cue for when the battery is about run out – just an abrupt halt to functionality. Can be frustrating for the headset to just “stop working” in the middle of a firefight.

The build quality of the headset is excellent, although I would note that the Mic doesn't always pick up quieter speech and will occasionally need to be adjusted to counter this. The weight of the headset – while initially light – can give one a sore neck after extended play sessions (i.e more than 2–3 hours)

Overall, an excellent headset and spot on price wise. Highly Recommended.
