This game appealed to me for several main reasons. Firstly, I really enjoyed what Telltale Games did with The Walking Dead. I'm also a pretty big fan of the Fables comics and the idea of brand new fresh content was exciting. Lastly, I'm also a sucker for a good detective game/story, which are pretty rare these days.
If any of those three reasons appealed to you, I'm confident you'll enjoy the game. If you enjoyed the two Walking Dead games, this game has the exact same format (although there was more interactivity and more actual gameplay in The Wolf Among Us, which was a nice surprise).
If you enjoy the comics, Telltale have done a brilliant job bringing those versions of the characters to life. I was quite worried about how I'd feel about the voices they gave them, but I can't think of a single character that wasn't handled brilliantly.
Lastly, it's a very well-written detective game with genuinely good twists (including a couple that really hit home even once you think the game/case is pretty much done and dusted). The dialogue and banter is excellent, the pacing and narrative are great.
As usual with Telltale, the decision-making is the key part of the gameplay, and I always really enjoyed finding out just what kind of choices I made while under pressure/in the heat of the moment. It also gives the game replay value even though you know the main story; there's a good amount of different ways to and to access different events and scenes.
Tl;dr version: If you like the comics, buy the game. If you like the Walking Dead games, buy the game. If you like good detective stories and/or games, buy the game.
