"Superb Book"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

My 10 yr old son begged me for this book, we searched high and low for it, book shops did not stock it and we looked online to purchase it from overseas. THEN,,, we discovered it on Mighty Ape. Fantastic.. NZ Based, free delivery, was here the next working day delivered to the door… What more can you ask.

We now have Simpson drawings all over the house, this is an excellent book and well worth the slightly high price tag, it is hard covered and has wonderful drawings and instruction to inspire any budding cartoonist.

A wonderful book, something to be kept for a life time.

If you're in to the Simpsons and like to draw then this is the perfect guide for you.

Includes a very detailed insight on how to draw all of the main family members – including different moods and even hand and feet details. Also has an overview of the support cast (including Itchy and Scratchy) with some fold out page in-depth looks at a few of the main support characters.

All in all, a very interesting book with some great tips, heaps of large, high quality colourful pictures and plenty of inspiration to get you drawing the Simpsons like a pro.

Description

Here is a rare homage to the art of classic 2-D animation and the time-honored method of hand-drawing characters that come alive on the silver screen. The creator of "The Simpsons" and "Futurama," reveals the art of brilliant character design, backgrounds, and prop art in this lavishly detailed handbook that unveils the complex secrets behind the deceptively simple and universally loved Simpsons characters. With creative insights, artists' sketches, helpful insider hints, and step-by-step instructions, enter the imagination of "master doodler" Matt Groening and receive some professional "how-to" advice from many of the animators and directors who have made "The Simpsons" the longest-running animated show and situation comedy in television history. In our technological era when animation has become increasingly digitalized, this unique handbook records the genesis of some of the most extraordinary examples of the art of hand-drawn animated characters.

About the Author
