"Viva la resistance "

There is nothing more enjoyable than blowing up a building full of krouts then sprinting of down an alleyway disappearing into the warm french night. In this enveloping game players fight block by block to give the people of France the will to continue the fight against the Nazi occupation

As far as Single Player games go, this is one of the best.

If you look passed the odd lil bugs here n there like jumping 40 feet in the air when you run into a wooden fence randomly, what you will find is one of the best Single Player games released in a long time.

The story is immersive, and theres plenty of variety. Most missions you can do them any way you want, as like Grand Theft Auto it is a sandbox style game. There is usually two approaches to most missions, where you can go in all guns blazing or try and sneak around. You can steal soldier uniforms as well which adds something to the stealth side of the game.

The game mechanics are simple but work well. Brawling and close combat is easy to use and effective, and shooting etc is fine as well.

The story has a few twists and keeps you wanting to go back for more. If you're looking for a good Single Player game to immerse yourself into for a while I recommend this for you!

"Pandemic's great swan song game."
5 stars"

The studio that developed this game, Pandemic, is no more but at least they left us a great game to remember them by. The Saboteur is a mixture of Assassin's Creed, GTA, Mafia and Wolfenstein and I believe the game does really well in blending all the best of these games together. I have played it and I like it very much, it is a very interesting game and it won't make you bored. The PC version has the option to turn off the nudity in the game, which you'll see a lot, so if you're a prude stay clear of this game! So if you are at a loss about what game to buy next, don't think twice and buy this one, you won't regret it. Just play it with all graphical settings maxed, it looks great!

"Nothing to rave about"
3 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

Took forever to install and then lost interest after an hour of game play. Poor graphics with no way to change the settings (none that I can see), way too scripted and corny.

Not much of a review, but wasn't much of a game.

Really quite disappointing given the number of good reviews the game got on this site.

Just started to play this game, pretty low key at this point. Possibly will pick up as a player gets further into it and learns more skills and finds weapons etc .

"Terrific"

If you like FPS, and in particular sniper rifles, then this is the game for you. Combining a variety of weaponry with missions throughout wartime Paris, and the odd driving challenge, this game has everything. A bit slow on screen refresh sometimes, and not very realistic unless you crank up the difficulty level e.g. You can take on 6 or so of the enemy on your own and get away with it. I still love it.

"Brilliant game and story - but short lived."
4 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

For an older game it is still awesome game play. I extremely enjoyed this game, the only down side I found was that the missions to fulfill the main story line ended rather quickly, and left you with a lot of not much to do except blow up and kill Nazis. That's pretty much the only downside. I loved this game and the open world environment is really cool. Grab a bargain and have fun sniping, sneaking or going in guns blazing. Mint as game!

"GTA + Assasins Creed"
4 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

Really enjoy this game, have only played a small amount of it, but I am hooked, the game play is similar to that of the Grand Theft Auto games and ixed in with some elements of Assasins creed such as scaling walls and climbing buildings which can give many unique ways to complete misions and tasks while also giving you the chance to take a break from missions and muck around within the city. Really recommend this game to all gaming fans

"Take that, Jerry!"

What happens when you drop a drunk Irishman on the French Resistance and let him loose on WW2 Paris- A whole lot of dead Nazis! This game lets you loose with dynamite and a chip on your shoulder in free roaming, sand box Paris. There is an obvious and very heavy influence from Assassins Creed with some Grand Theft Auto thrown in. Disguise yourself in Nazi uniforms, escape overhead Zeplin patrols, steal cars, clamber up the sides of buildings and liberate Paris all while being treated to the authentic French welcome to anyone they think is English.

"BOOM!"

This game is like Grand Theft Auto but set in 1940's France occupied by Nazis.

There are so many Nazi things to blow up in the city and you'll have a blast doing it.

This is a mean games, am loving it to the end, but cant beat it thank you.........

"Cheap Enjoyable 3rd Person Shooter"
4 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

It's pretty much a somewhat enjoyable cheap shooter experience…

Its a “open world” type game like GTA, at a smaller scale. Its hard to impress when you've seen it done a lot better else where. Everything in the Saboteur is done a bit better somewhere else in similar titles.

It had a lot of great ideas but I guess the company just didn't have enough money to develop it which is a huge shame. With a bit of money in the bank, this game would of rocked the world for some Nazi killing fans out there.

Still! If your willing to look pass those random bugs, cheap programming, some average textures, underdeveloped game play / A.I, then You'll have a blast running around occupied France killing those Nazis!

I'd Slap on a 3/5 for this game!

"Like Grand Theft Auto in 1940's Paris"
3 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

I'd seen previews of this game but hadn't really read any of the reviews, but it seemed cheap enough to take a gamble on and I'm a sucker for WWII games so why not.

The first thing that springs to mind while playing this is that it's like GTA set in WWII Paris, you can steal cars, get chased by gun-wielding Nazis, shoot and blowup things. On a basic level this can be somewhat fun, and there are plenty of side quests you can do to upgrade your weapons and abilities before or while tackling the main plot quests.

The black and white theme that shows in areas dominated by the Nazis that turns to colour as you reduce their control on a neighborhood is arty but detracts from what realism still exists in the game, which brings me to my major gripe with this game, realism.

If you're not a WWII buff, then don't let these issues get your way of playing what is admittedly a fairly fun game but for me there are enough of these issues that it reduces my enjoyment somewhat. Perhaps the most obvious one is the Zeppelins that fly over Paris, um, hello, isn't this supposed to be WWII, those things were obsolete before the end of WWI. Some of the weapons are out of place, such as MP44's available long before they were invented, and there is always that apparent abundance of fuel for cars, especially considering all the civilian ones around.

In summary, this game is fun enough and fairly easy to jump in to but let down by it's lack of attention to the realism details.

"EPIC storyline and game"

This game is the shizznit, for someone who doesnt really play many first person games, i really enjoy it, the graphics are great and the storyline fantastic!, lots of perks throughout the game too, highly recommend to everyone out there!

"GTA meets Assasssins Creed meets Godfather"

Overall a very entertaining game. Visually, very pleasing. Gameplay is easy to pick up, and the sandbox style is rewarding (especially for an obsessive completionist, and the discerning saboteur). Like GTA, driving like a maniac is a joy. Unlike GTA, you will be punished for killing too many civilians.

The game has a perks system similar to that of Fallout 3. These perks are awarded for completing certain objectives; killing or destroying enemies in certain scenarios, or simply completing certain missions. These perks make the game more fun, and in some instances much easier.

The game has a has an engaging storyline (though you do get tired of people being captured constantly), but most impressive was the heavy atmosphere of fear, paranoia, tension and desperation, working for the French Resistance. Characters are believable, emotions run high.

Missions are quite diverse, and you could find yourself flying through the storyline campaign quite quickly. Freeplay mostly involves destroying various targets in and around Paris, which is fun if not a little repetitive. But it has a purpose; fewer Nazi targets will make achieving your objectives during storyline missions significantly easier. Additionally the ‘credit’ you earn will mean buying weapons/ammunition/vehicles trivial, and the penalty for death will seem less harsh.

One thing partially killed the pace for me. Loading times during a massive sandbox style game need to be managed; this hasn't been perfectly achieved. On many occasions I would find the game stalled so it could catch up on loading the foreground; most often a problem while driving (fast).

I can deal with that, but some of the races are incredibly difficult to win when it pauses so frequently; in fact during a time trial race the clock continues running while you are jammed. Very fustrating. It seems to be a software issue rather than hardware; my setup should have been more than sufficient to handle it.

Overall a worthwhile game. Especially if you love creating explosions, running riot in tanks, and having a secret hideout in the rear of a burlesque house.

Got hooked right from the start. Lots of controls but the lead into the game makes this not to tedious to pick up. Great graphics, & lots to do without being hooked directly to the story line. Lots of laughs and hard to leave alone. Im not usually one for this type of game but this is good. Well worth the money at Mighty Ape's price.

"Ok. Nothing more."

This game is mostly ok. It doesn't like quad-core processors so you have to reset the affinity every time you play, which is annoying. The climbing mechanic is clunky, and with the amount of climbing you do that gets annoying. Single player story is ok, a bit overdone at times. Mostly the graphics are ok. Explosions and destruction are good. It would have been better if there were more music tracks for when you are driving because the 5 or so soon get repetitive.

"Good, casual and fun game!"

Picked this up cheap as 1 of the daily deals, seems pretty fun so far. As mentioned above, this game blends different aspects of several games, and does it well

Decent graphics, good humour, solid gameplay, I'm very pleased with it! (especially considering I got it for 20 bucks!!)

"War in Paris"

Interesting take on WW2 games, although I have played my way through it fairly quickly, it got a bit addictive!! I would say that it is not really that hard even on the hardest level. and once the main story line is finished there is no real incentive to finish off all the extras. My advice get them done first as they give you heaps of perks, which make the main missions even simpler. Overall good game, great graphics, easy to use and interesting story line. Plus you can blow heaps up!!
