The second half of the 20th century would not have been as funny without the Goons. The massive influence this group had on comedy is not to be underestimated. Without the Goons, there would have been no Monty Python’s Flying Circus, no Goodies, no Fawlty Towers or no National Lampoon. The show was originally produced and broadcast by the BBC Home Service from 1951 to 1960 and was mainly written by Spike Milligan.
