Ben Fong-Torres was at "Rolling Stone" magazine when the Eagles were a cover story in 1979. He followed the band's career, interviewed them himself, and even played in the now famous Eagles vs "Rolling Stone" magazine softball match. The band changed line-up five times, split up, recorded four albums, toured the world, made the best-selling album in American history, and the members sued each other. The line-up may have changed, but the music carried on. And Ben witnessed it all. Author Biography

Ben Fong-Torres was born in California and graduated from San Francisco State University in 1966 with a BA in Radio-TV-Film and became a writer and Senior Editor at Rolling Stone magazine where he wrote 37 cover stories and hundreds of articles. He had major interviews with many of the most important acts of the 1970s, including Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones and Linda Ronstadt. An interview of Ben's with Ray Charles won the Deems Taylor Award for Magazine Writing in 1974. He left Rolling Stone in 1981 he wrote for many magazines, including Esquire, GQ, Parade, Playboy, Sports Illustrated, Harper's Bazaar, American Film, Travel & Leisure and People. He also worked as a radio DJ, TV presenter and more recently a book author. He still writes for the San Francisco Chronicle and Parade and broadcasts on TONEAudio in the Internet in between books.
