You don't have to remember the sixties to love this movie!! Whilst the soundtrack is one of the major highlights, the great comedic performances are what makes this film such a hit with the young and the old, it's a laugh from start to finish, no boring bits!!

This film is awesome and makes me wish I was alive in the '60s so bad! I could watch the funny characters and listen to the awesome rock and roll over and over. The critics must be watching a different movie to the one I'm seeing!
The film was a fun romp through some great sounds and an enjoyable emotional and funny rollercoaster. Inspired me to get the soundtrack on Cd and listen again to all those 60s tracks I love.
Fabulous…just a rockin true to life DVD
Another great british comedy I just loved the 60s music
Wish I was a pom and born in 1950
The story in The Boat That Rocked, while fictional, draws a lot of parallels to the story of our own country's (then) pirate radio station, Radio Hauraki, which suffered a similar fate when its boat sank.
If you love classic rock, and the shenanigans young Brits got up to in those days, then you'll love The Boat That Rocked. I certainly did.
The Boat that Rocked is about a pirate radio station called Radio Rock who broadcast from a ship in the North Sea to the UK. A number of DJ's live on board and are the only station that plays 24 hour rock and pop music at the time (1960's) That is all I'm saying about the backgroundas I would be spoiling for some after that point
The most notable cast emebers in NZ are Bill Nighy from Love Actually and Rhys Darby from Yes Man, Flight of the Conchords and his own DVD Imagine That. Add in some other notable faces and it is one of the funniest movies of this year by far. The chemistry between DJ's is great and any Comedy fan will enjoy this. There is also a serious side to the story and this plays out very well and mixes with the movie as a whole wonderfully
In my view this is so far the movie of the year – must have!
