In the end I will always be a hard core Star Wars, especially when it has a sizable portion of the story about the regular soldiers of the Republic and not about Jedi, Jedi, Jedi, Sith, Sith, Sith.
Therefore I remember when this series began, boy did I lavish every single second of it, it certainly did not disappoint a long time fan.
The stories were rather compelling, animation wasn't bad considering the new artistic approach they created, but character development was hampered by the fact this WAS in fact meant for kids, with just enough to compel older fans. It is for this reason I cannot give this product a perfect rating.
What I mean by this best said through a common occurrence is that deaths were often covered as being “poor [insert name here]” and then move on, no real on-screen portrayal of real emotion is what has always hampered this series for me in terms of how two-dimensional characters can seem.
Overall though I did love this series, especially the episodes featuring the clones. But it still wasn't perfect sadly, especially with the recent decision to rid fans of what we've come to consider canon from the extended universe, as a result many story line changes made during this series has caused crucial steps to how the Jedi fall to become rather flat and over simplified (again, I understand this is a kids show, but come on, they'd have to know 20+ year olds would be watching this too!).
Sadly these problems plagued the entire season throughout the entire series.
