Having recently purchased the 1/48 scale X-Wing and being extremely impressed with how well the kit came together, I was keen to see what type of job Finemolds have done with the Tie Fighter. I wasn't disappointed.
Like the X-Wing, this is a stunningly crafted kit which is perhaps the most accurate representation of the Tie Fighter in kit form I have seen, especially being in such a small scale. Every exact detail is there, right down to the detail on the pilots uniform to two Stormtroopers which can be displayed standing on guard with the ship, on its stand, which is a nice touch. A small warning for the beginner modeller, the kit being on the scale that it is, does contain some tiny decals, which can be very fiddly and easily lost so you need to have great patience when cutting them out and applying them. Also, the instructions are in Japanese only so you may have to access the internet for reference photos for the ships colour scheme. I can't recommend this kit enough, especially if you are a Star Wars fan.
