I've been playing guitar (self-taught) for decades but wanted to improve my lead guitar technique. I struggled to get started with the software as the user interface is quite bizarre. The way it shows you which note to play next is totally counter-intuitive. Why it doesn't show you the notes on the same view as the current string I fail to understand. It feels like they are just copying those 3D rock star games that use a button press fake guitar, which is a dumb way of presenting real playing. Fortunately you can kind of ignore those, watch the guy playing a real guitar on the videos, and go from there.
Once you get past the interface there's some good stuff in here. I've already improved my pick technique and my string bending technique (I've been doing both wrong for years) and I'm sure the software has a lot more to teach me.
Definitely a more worthwhile use of the Xbox than yet another game.
