Uprooted from university after her first year when her parents, for unfathomable reasons, abandon her younger brother and sister, Amy returns home to assume role as guardian. She could not be less prepared. Despite the hardships of forging ahead with little support in small town America Amy battles loneliness and the burden of forsaking her own dreams. The sudden appearance of Sam, a drifter passing through town, offers hope and companionship and, what’s more, the promise of working through the challenges that confront lost souls in desperate need of someone to lean on.
