Purchased this solely to digitize 18 year old VHS camcorder tapes. Used composite (3 wire) video input from a VCR. It did the job faultlessly, quality was as good as could be expected, and no sound problems either. I just used default settings. The software would not install on Windows XP 64, but was OK with XP 32, SP2. Very pleased overall. Saved all files to hard drive as .mpg's. Haven't tried the video editing or DVD writing software features.
