5 stars "This is an awesome book for young Children."

Awesome book, kids love it and ask for it all the time. They soon learn very quickly that a possum is a friend to Australia and a pest to New Zealand. A very catchy song, one that gets stuck in your head. lol

5 stars "Fantastic book for children"

My daughter loves this book with a catchy sing-a-long tune, that seems to get stuck in your head! Excellent meaning behind the story too about possums being a pest in NZ. Would recommend to all!

5 stars "Totally awesome book with a toe tapping beat and great message!"

I first saw this product in the early childhood centre where I work. I am still completing my studies and when I saw how well the children react to this song at mat time I knew it was a definite for my growing book collection and was so excited to find it at mighty ape. My 3 year old son loves it too which is an added bonus…I don't know if the neighbours agree hearing it blaring from our house with us all singing along at the top of our voices on a Sat morning!

Description

When Mister Possum and his greedy family refuse to change their diet of luscious New Zealand trees a plan is hatched to return these hungry visitors to their native Australia.

Book + Song CD.

Possums have no natural predators in NZ. They were brought here from their native Australia to establish a fur trade in the 1830's but when this venture proved unsuccesful they were let loose and we now have an estimated 70,000 million of them living in NZ. Erin Devlin's quirky book Oh No Mr Possum sees them sent back to their native Australia…

Author Biography

For many years Erin Devlin of The Kiwi Puppet Company has supplied her unique wildlife puppets and children's books to schools and early childhood institutions around New Zealand. Wanting to add a bit more ‘zing’ to her conservation messages she wrote and recorded The Possum Song. Mister Possum and Erin's other puppet characters can be found either by visiting her website or in selected stores around New Zealand. Greg O'Donnell is a graphic designer, illustrator and professional musician.
