My sister bought me this game for Christmas, as she knows I'm a fan of Monster High. The game plays as an alternate storyline to the 13 Wishes climax scene in the movie, and the player is transported into the magic lantern (again).

There are 5 characters you can play as, and each has their own special ability (or ‘freaky flaw’) which you'll need to complete every objective in the game. These characters are Frankie Stein, Lagoona Blue, Cleo de Nile, Clawdeen Wolf and Draculaura; who wear simplified, or recoloured versions of their ‘13 Wishes’ dolls' oufits. I also appreciated that they used the actual voice actors from the webisodes & tie-in movies. I also really loved the scenery & music in the game, which are very ambient & evocative of Arabian culture. The rich colours and exotic music make the game an enjoyable experience.

The game starts out very easy, progressing through to much more difficult levels, so younger, less experienced children may need guidance from an adult or older sibling.

Monster High: 13 Wishes – The Official Game offers several hours of gameplay, with replayable levels and plenty of objectives. Suitable for fans of Monster High, both young and old. My only complaint is with the graphics, which are a little subpar, but overall, I think the game is worth the price tag.
