Description

Meet The Fockers

When your name is Gaylord, it's not surprising that you prefer to be known as Greg… but there's not much you can do with a surname like Focker. As we found out in the comedy, Meet the Parents, the name alone can get things off to a nervous start when a guy is meeting his girlfriend’s mum and dad – especially when the latter is as uptight as Jack Byrnes and is played by Robert De Niro.

Gaylord – er, Greg, is played, of course, by Ben Stiller and he and the rest of the cast of that hit 2000 movie return for the sequel. Now that Greg seems to have been accepted by Jack and his wife, Dina (Blythe Danner) as the man their daughter Pam (Teri Polo) is destined to marry, it’s time for the next step. It’s time for the Byrneses to meet Greg’s parents, Bernie and Roz. It’s time to Meet the Fockers.

Not surprisingly, these are the most hilariously mismatched pair of in-laws you could imagine with the very easy-going Bernie and Roz a chaotic contrast to the more uptight Jack and Dina. From the moment they meet it’s clear they have nothing in common.

In what must be one of the year’s best-ever casting achievements, Bernie and Roz are played by Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand!
