Surpassing every aspect of the first game, from the addition of a large number of new and powerful weapons, to the simple fact of making the guns handle more realistically, Left 4 Dead 2 is sure to keep you hooked for a long, long time.
The animations have really come along way, as has the gore engine, with zombie parts flying every which way when in a brawl with the deadly machete. The music still keeps the same undertones of the first Left 4 Dead, but with a distinguishable southern twist.
The new levels seem to sprawl for miles, with the new special infected filling up that space in no time at all, making for an even more interesting fight. The characters feel more fleshed-out, with noticeable personalities this time around, and far better dialogue.
The crescendo events are even more frightening and nerve-wracking, forcing you to rethink strategies every time to play, in accordance with what the “Ai Director 2.0” is feeling like. Several phrases come to mind when describing it.
In conclusion, I give Left 4 Dead 2 the “Excellent” rating as it is really a true sequel with better Characters, Weapons, Story, Ai, Music and Levels.
From the very beginning of the game you can see it's a winner, from the amazing graphics, to the outstanding story, which makes you feel like your really fighting to survive, not just playing a game. Fighting hundreds of zombies at a time makes it even more realistic and exciting, your not standing in downtown Savnnah, Georgia wondering where everyone went, you are literally fighting the cities former inhabitants one block at a time. You fight the ‘infected’ with whatever you can find improvised pipe bombs, molotov cocktails and of course any kinda firearm you can get your hands on. The addition of melee weapons such as axes, machetes and chainsaws really sets this game leagues above the first. No longer are you pushing a horde of zombies away with little granny nudges, pull out your machete and hack your way through the middle of them. This is definitely one of the best zombie survival games ever made!!!!!
