The Neighbourhood, whom Pigeons & Planes calls “one of 2012′s bubbling bands,” have announced their debut album I Love You. will be released April 26. 2013 is seeing them play festival after festival, including Laneway, SXSW, Coachella and Lollapalooza. They have just completed a sold out US West Coast tour and are about to support Foals on their US run of dates.
The Neighbourhood are: Jesse Rutherford (vocals), Jeremy Freedman (guitar), Zach Abels (guitar), Mikey Margott (bass) & Bryan Sammis (drums).
Genre-crossing outfit the Neighbourhood mix atmospheric indie rock, electronica, and hip-hop beats with melodic R&B-inflected vocals. Formed in Los Angeles in 2011, the band centres around lead singer Jesse Rutherford, guitarists Jeremy Freedman and Zach Abels, bassist Mikey Margott, and drummer Bryan Sammis.
