"Emma Stone is hilarious"
5 stars"

I didn't go to see this at the movies because I thought it would be another middle of the road chick flick… but my husband hired it and we both loved it. Emma Stone is great in this movie and is turning into one of my new fav actresses. Great script… some great laugh out loud moments… and I'm keen to own it.

My daughter brought this years ago and loved watching it with her. Since she left home had to buy my own copy. I'm a massive fan of Emma Stone and this one of her best.

This movie is one of e funniest I have seen in a long time. It has a sophisticated sense of humour with witty jokes. I would definitely recommend

Description

In this charming, critically acclaimed tale of rumours and reputation, Olive (Emma Stone), an average high school student, sees her below-the-radar existence turn around overnight once she decides to use the school's gossip grapevine to advance her social standing. Now her classmates (Amanda Bynes, Aly Michalka) are turning against her and the school board is becoming concerned, including her favorite teacher (Thomas Haden Church) and the distracted guidance counselor (Lisa Kudrow).

With the support of her hilariously idiosyncratic parents (Stanley Tucci, Patricia Clarkson) and a little help from a long-time crush (Penn Badgley), Olive attempts to take on her notorious new identity and crush the rumour mill once and for all.

Special Features:

  • Commentary with Director Will Gluck and Emma Stone

Critic Reviews:

  • " Like most other teen comedies before it, it may be a complete flight of fancy when compared to the real American high school experience, but nevertheless it's smart, funny and totally endearing. " – Nikki Baughan (Roll Credits)
  • " This was nothing but fun-times for me. " – Kate Rodger (Newshub, NZ)
