Description
Comedian Rhys Darby (Flight of the Conchords, The Boat That Rocked) plays Doug - a hard working Kiwi bloke and massive fan of the legendary band Queen. Doug's happy and predictable life falls to pieces when his long-term girlfriend Susan (Faye Smythe) suddenly dumps him early one morning. Through Pierre the duck Doug discovers his own true place in the world and the belief in himself that will allow him to find true love with Holly played by Golden-Globe Award winning actress Sally Hawkins (Made in Dagenham).

"Top NZ movie"
Don't understand why this movie is so low key. A movie you can watch with your kids, parents and Grandparents without all that hollywood crap
"Delightful, slightly quirky, rom-com for all."
Love Birds is a great little film, with something for all the family. It's a no-sex, no-violence, no-bad language romantic comedy with a number of delightful characters. (The fact that I have a small role in this film does not in any way affect the above.) Enjoy.
"Fantastic film "
Firstly, this film has Rhys Darby in it so it was bound for greatness. Then they throw in the amazing Sally Hawkins who has starred in some of my favourite movies (Submarine, Jane Eyre, Happy-Go-Lucky and Made in Dagenham). Love Birds is one of the best New Zealand films I have ever seen. The movie features a great cast, story and music. Enjoyable for all and a movie I could watch repeatedly.
