A great album with so many amazing songs!!!
While the title track from her last full-length continues its slow, improbable climb up the U.S. Hot 100, English singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding has revealed the release date and album artwork of her sophomore effort.
“Can finally give you all details of my next album! It is called ‘Halcyon’ and it is coming out on Oct 8th in the UK and Oct 9th in the US!” Goulding posted on Twitter on Monday (July 30). The 25-year-old posted a follow-up tweet with the album art: a black-and-white shot of herself with her eyes snapped shut and golden hair whipping around her face.
In addition, Goulding has announced on Facebook that “Anything Could Happen,” the first track from the album to reach the masses “very soon,” will be given a proper lyric video with fan-submitted photos being incorporated into the clip. The singer has posted the “Anything Could Happen” lyrics in full, and invited fans to take snapshots focusing on single words from the song using Instagram and tagging them with #EllieLyricPhotos.
While “Anything Could Happen” does not have an official release date yet, Goulding is already enjoying a smash single, as “Lights” reached a new peak position (No. 4) on last week's Hot 100, its 31st week on the tally. “Lights” has so far sold 2.5 million downloads according to Nielsen SoundScan, but, of course, it won't appear on “Halcyon,” having already graced her 2010 disc of the same name.

When “Lights” rose into the Top 10 of the Hot 100 in its 27th week last
month, the song completed the longest ascent to the region in the
chart's 54-year history for a song by a female that was not aided by crossover
airplay from country to pop radio. Goulding's “Lights” album reached the
U.K. albums chart's top 10 early last year, and in April 2011,Goulding
performed her version of Elton John's “Your Song” at at Prince William and
Kate Middleton's wedding. (Billboard)
