A remarkable witness to several of the most epoch-making events of the 20th century, towards the end of her life Dorothy McLorn penned a volume of memoirs. These memoirs form the basis of this interesting biography, which also draws on a memoir by her son Philip.

Author Biography

Patrick M.R. Gibson was born in 1928 and grew up mainly in Burma, Siam, Sumatra and India. In 1944 he returned to Britain and spent five terms at school before being called up for National Service. After thirty months in the RAF he joined the chemical industry, married and had a family. He retired aged 69. He is the author of 'Childhood Lost - A Boy's Journey through War' (1999).
