I've been using it for a month now and I've thrown pretty much everything at it from modern graphic intensive games, through high end design applications, general business and finishing with multimedia. I have to say it's done all without too much problem.
Let me get the first big point out of the way, if you are looking for high end gaming laptop this isn't it. Spend the extra money on the specialist laptops that Mighty Ape carry. If you want to play games but not pay through the nose for it, then this machine is a great choice. You can't play in HD with every thing turned on but I dropped the resolution down and was able to have all the fancy effect and a good frame rate.
On every other point this laptop is a great bit a of kit. Great build quality, clear screen, good speakers, decent keyboard, touch pad and webcam. All the ports are USB-3 and easy to get too. Getting a blue-ray burner at this price is a surprise. Having room to double the memory without replacing ram and two hard-drives with the main one having SSD caching again is great for the price point.
It's not all perfect. It can be noisy at time with the main fan being quite loud even when the machine is running low load tasks. I found fiddling with the integrated ‘eco’ settings controlled the noise issue. Battery life is okay to good, but it all depends if you want to have a long run time between charges or maximize the total battery life span. On the software front there are some extras that Toshiba included that duplicate whats found in the standard windows setup, I've not removed them but I've not used them either. Their software could do with more explanation on what it does and how to get the best out of it. In fact the only real complaint I've got is that it ships with windows 8.0 so you have to spend one day updating it before you allowed to upgrade to 8.1 and then spend the next day installing that.
In conclusion, even with the niggles I've talked about the machine overall it a great unit. I'm more than happy with it and can see me getting my money's worth out of it
