Company

8 comments By Dylan

You can now create a public profile for your Mighty Ape account and share your reviews, comments, Wish List, Collection and Marketplace items with other customers.

Creating a profile only takes a few seconds and you can control exactly what you share using the privacy settings.

Once you've created your profile we'll link to it from your Marketplace items, plus reviews and comments you post on the site. Once a good number of profiles have been added we'll add new ways to find and interact with other customers. Enjoy!

Making birthdays easy

Company

This week we're excited to roll out a cool new feature that allows you to connect your Facebook account with your Mighty Ape account and get birthday reminders plus recommendations for your friends.

Remembering people's birthdays can be tough, and coming up with something cool to buy them is even tougher. Our new integration with Facebook makes it easy.

Recommendations are based on what your friends like on Facebook. For example, if your friend likes Top Gear on Facebook, we'll recommend you Top Gear products on Mighty Ape. If your friend likes Star Wars, we'll recommend Star Wars products and so on.

Connecting with Facebook is easy and we take your privacy seriously. We don't share any information with Facebook, we'll never post on your Facebook wall and we'll never attempt to contact any of your friends. Plus, you can disconnect at any time. Learn more

Introducing three new ways to browse Mighty Ape

Company

Today we upgraded “Gallery view” to make it easier to browse products by their picture. We now display more products on each page and you can hover your mouse over products to reveal their title, price and stock status.

Last week you may have noticed we also upgraded “Details View” to include a short description about each product. The idea here is that you can learn about a product without having to click into the product page. I've found this view to be especially useful when browsing non-fiction books by subject, or DVDs I've not heard about before.

The keen-eyed among you may also have noticed a new “List View” that's designed to make it super-easy to view many products all at once. With this view you'll see 100 products per page and each product is displayed on a single line with an arrow you can click to reveal more details.

When searching or browsing, use the blue bar above the products to switch between the three views.

Say hello to our new image viewer

Company

Yesterday we finally waved goodbye to our old-school image viewer and what was possibly the last glaringly obvious part of the site in desperate need of a visual makeover.

When viewing a set of images on the product page you'll now see a fancy light box that lets you flick through the images without opening a new browser window.

You can find the new light box on any product page, or just check it out on Final Fantasy XIII which is currently selling for the crazy price of just $36.99 (save $93).

Yes, that was a shameless plug for our Games sale which started today. Check it out
