This blog might get a bit geeky!

Today we start shipping our new range of enthusiast Gorilla EX Rigs, the first being aptly named The First Monkey

Gorilla EX are intended to be the base for a system that you can improve over time, they come assembled and pre-loaded with the windows 8.1 operating system so you can add wireless, more storage, graphics cards and cooling to the builds easily when you want to.

The First Monkey sits in a versitile Corsair Spec-01 mid tower, with plenty of space and power to do some pretty cool builds. We can add 120mm LED fans with fancy controllers, wireless and solid state storage later – right now we start off with a quick look at graphics card options!

You spotted the train in Metro, noticed the street sign in Fallout… You identified it was not Carl stealing that car in GTA and that James Heller from Prototype 2 was flying, not Delsin Rowe…

Our winner was not fooled by Paul Phoenix looking a bit like Ken in Street Fighter X Tekken and noticed that two policeman from L.A Noire::http://www.mightyape.co.nz/…ion/19261680 were headed into Eagleson's Gun Store…

She has identifed carefully, linked correctly and now… WON AWESOMELY!

Competition: Benchmarks & Elgato Game Cap Giveaways!

All Gorilla Rigs have Final Fantasy Benchmark results you can check out – this is a free benchmark you can download and try on your rig at home and it's a great way to compare performance :)

For these recordings we use the awesome Elgato Game Capture HD and in this FF benchmark Aiden's Ape pushed out an easy 11000 with the settings on maximum, 1080p and fullscreen – with this powerful build we even had it looped back into the rig recording as it ran the benchmark :)

Elgato is more than just a great capture device though, it includes some easy to use editing software that works with both PC and Mac and with it you can rewind back to the awesome moment you had 30 minutes ago and just record that bit… leaving out the 15 times I got killed by sneaky creepers.

Hot Asus Graphics Cards have landed!

Asus have been hard at work edging in more and more performance into their cards.

Their latest iteration in the Direct CU II Cooler not only look striking at a glance, it also keeps the cards crucial components icy cool under the most demanding gaming situations.

Asus are stating up to 30% cooler and 3 times quieter when compared to reference cooling.

In the later cards, such as the ASUS GTX 760 2GB, this is achieved by having heat pipes in direct contact with the processing unit, leading to a large dense fin array over the card. Above this are the two large fans that focus air down through the fins and onto the cards PCB itself.
