It has got to be 2012 - that movie had absolutely everything you could imagine for an 'end of the world as we know it" movie. I'd like to see another movie try and better it!

I'm not a big disaster film guy myself. But choosing one I'd say Knowing with Nicolas Cage. My misses on the other hand, she is a huge disaster film fan, its her fav genera. Hers is Dante's Peak with Pierce Brosnan.

It definitely be 2012. 2012 is the only movie that I watched that actually gives me a apocalyptic, end of the world feeling.Calling this a natural disaster film would be an understatement. Hope this film can at least be as good as 2012.

Twister, who could ever forget that flying cow.. I was blown away (pun intended) watching that as a kid.

No, but really 2012 was the best one so far, made me anxious about the future.

2012.... Crazy, over the top natural disaster flick that will remain my favourite until they make the film of Lindsay Lohans life.

  • Kurt says: 25 August 2014, 2:23pm

I hark back to the days of Helen Hunt in "Twister". Quite the change in role from Mad About You. From what I'm reading above however i need to watch "2012" as well.

    Dantes Peak.

Set in an an idyllic mountain town on the road to prosperity through tourism.

On a routine check, Pierce Brosnan, a volcanologist notices strange warning signs. A lack of native wildlife, sulfurous emissions seeping through the land, and perhaps the most foreboding a young couple, found inexplicably boiled like lobsters in one of the towns many hot pools.

Its up to Brosnan to convince the towns hard headed mayor into averting the oncoming disaster before paradise turns to hell.

Oh and lava, ash, screaming and running.
