Probably convincing Saren he was in the wrong at the end of Mass Effect 1. It was really nice to see him repent. I still think him joining you temporarily against Sovereign and dying as hero would have been a better use of the character, but all the same, I'm a sucker for this sort of thing regardless.
What better moment than when that pesky news-reporter pushes Shepard a little too far? The resulting smack to the chops was such a surprise! It totally showed he wasn't going to stand for some bootlick reporter twisting his decisions against him for a little bit of selfish credit. Good stuff.
When Kelly Chambers told Shepard that Tali was interested in him. Always wanted her to be an LI in ME1 but I thought Bioware had moved passed that. Was pleasantly surprised.
While I do have a copy of ME2, I haven't had a chance to give it a decent crack yet, due to uncompleted playthroughs in other games (looking at you here Skyrim and Arkham City).
So I'm going to have to go with the rather unconventional answer of "My favourite Mass Effect 2 moment was being able to pick it up for the sweet price of $30".
Hope that doesn't invalidate me from the competition.
Currently playing though ME1 for the first time, enjoying it. One enjoyable part thus far is when both my love interests, Liara and Ashley confront you in order to choose who you prefer to be with. Due to the Jealous cat fight.

It suddenly makes the Reaper threat so much more real. "You exist because we allow it, and you will end because we demand it."
Mine would be waiting for Garrus to finish his calibrations in ME2
I dont know what my favourite moment would be as I havent ever played the game but looking at the trailer looks very awesome so my favourite moment would be when you say congratulations youve scored yourselve a free copy
my favourit moment of me2 would be shortly after you see the normandy blown to smitherines and you die slightly inside. to see that cerberus has remade the thing bigger, badder and mackdaddy monsterous! i love that ship!!
