R2 and R5 are excellent representations of the 2 astromechs from Episode 4. Even if poor R5 blows his motivator after his 15 seconds of fame. R2's dome requires gluing, sanding and painting to make it look right. 3 blue panels need to be fitted and masked prior to painting, but the rest can be fitted after the dome is finished. Painting the silver parts covers up the moulding finish imperfections that do show up. Take care with the power leads on the foot (batteries-) as they are thin and brittle. An alternative is spare tubing from Tamiya 1/12 scale motorcycles.

I have yet to put this kit together, but like other Bandi kits, there are many carefully made parts ready for your assembly. I am sure it will take me a few evenings to put both robots together, and looking forward to every minute!

These kits are very well designed and engineered and are quite good out of the box with no gluing or painting. But if you choose to add some detail painting and weathering (as I did), they look very realistic indeed. Probably a bit difficult for younger kids though. Great value for money.
