Your Feet walk , Your Mind Travel is the story of the difficult journey I and my family took with cancer- or ,as i like to call it ,” Mr. C.”

It’s also the story of an Italian immigrant who came to the United States in 1974 at the age of 17.

Finally it is the tale of a man supremely fortunate to be enveloped by loving family and friends . As i made my way through the dense forbidden jungle of the disease , I wasn’t alone . Others walked with me .

I came to know Mr. C. after a two-year long misdiagnosis that led to my finding out I had Stage Four cancer. From there , I would have two surgeries and 33 radiation treatments . i would suffer with indescribable pain , despair , and the fear of losing home and livelihood.

Your Feet Walk , Your Mind Travel presents a glimpse of the havoc cancer can wreak on the lives of a patient and his or her loved ones. In my case , the illness threatened 40 years of struggle on the part of two immigrants [ my wife and I] to create and maintain the American dream through our small business.

if the book helps those who have met Mr. C. find the strength to keep their heads high as they get past the initial diagnosis and move through the surgery , pain , treatments and recovery , I will have achieved my goal.

Author Biography

Bruno Di Carlo , 65 , grew up on a farm in Arielli , Italy , near the coast of the Adriatic Sea . He came to the States at the age of seventeen with a dream of discovering America’s streets of gold .

Instead , he found Pina , the love of this life of forty-five years . Together r they started a hairdressing business that still thrives today . They also started a family , a close -knit clan that now comprises three children and four grandchildren .

Beyond the family , Bruno’s devotion extends to a sprawling garden behind the couple’s home in Easton Massachusetts. The garden’s fig tree’s recall for him his childhood in Arielli.

Your Feet Walk , Your Mind Travel is Bruno’s powerful agonizing , at time humorous memoir of his journey with cancer . the story is a testament to the strength of family and the enduring power of love .
