Author Biography
Ron has been a writer, director and producer of over 100 television documentaries and newscasts in New York, Hollywood and London, and has produced critically-acclaimed live performance shows, such as Meet Thomas Jefferson. Ron has also served as Adjunct Professor at several universities and technical schools, teaching communications, writing and staging. He is President of the Nonverbal Institute. Ron got his start in television broadcasting at WJIM TV in Lansing, Michigan as a director, producer and on-camera host of various television shows, including children’s shows. He worked for the Jackie Gleason Show in New York and with Allen Ludden in Hollywood on the creative development staff. Ron also provided nonverbal consulting to various movie directors and producers at Pinewood Studios in London. Ron received his Bachelor’s Degree in Television Broadcasting and his Master’s Degree in Communication (with the focus on Nonverbal Communication) from Michigan State University, and studied neurolinguistics (the abstract knowledge of language) at Stanford University. Ron also studied pantomime under the French Master, Marcel Marceau, and as a result, became totally immersed in the art and science of body language. He has focused over 30 years in research, training and lecturing on this vital subject, and this book is an accumulation of a lifetime of knowledge teaching nonverbal communication. Ron’s company, the Nonverbal Institute, specializes in the teaching of nonverbal communications and body language. His clients range from corporate executives, sales managers, and human resource managers, to real estate agents, health care workers, and federal government employees.
